JetNation
While there wasn’t a whole lot to get excited about on offense for the Jets in their 15-12 victory last night, there were some notable performances on defense. One that we thought stood out was that of rookie edge rusher Braiden McGregor. He would lead the Jets with three quarterback pressures, including a near sack that oddly enough, looked to be accidentally thwarted by the offensive tackle McGregor had just beaten as we highlighted here. Mandatory Credit: Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports Among those players who didn’t hear their names called in this year’s draft, McGregor was one of the more curious cases. Having been a key part of Michigan’s National Championship team, he earned an invited to the Senior Bowl in Mobile. While in Mobile he had some pretty impressive reps and played well enough, or so we thought, to solidify himself as a guy who would be picked come draft time. That wasn’t to be, and he landed in New York as a Jets an undrafted free agent. Now through two games with limited reps, McGregor has looked impressive coming off the edge in logging four QB pressures and 1 hit. With a deep defensive line the Jets will have some decisions to make up front and Braiden McGregor is doing all he can to make letting him go a hard one.
