Love that he was actually spotted instead seen.  Very clever of NBC to use bird watching refrence to try and up the readership.

Another guy if healthy who is a huge upgrade for the team.

That gives him about two weeks before opening day… ? It will be interesting to see just how big a role he has in the first couple/few weeks of the season. I’d guess that he’d get the start, but that Lazard would see a lot of playing time.

Exactly 3 weeks to the day!

It would appear he's in line to do so Fish.

Doesn't sound like he'll be 100% by opening day, and may still miss a game or two, which is disappointing.

Doubly so if Lazard is the backfill at WR #2.

But I guess we'll just have to see if Lazard is a different player (in terms of his own personal effort/motivation) with Rodgers at QB.  We'll have to hope he is.

The Jets have become perhaps overly cautious when it comes to players returning from injury. They were really slow with Breece last year, who didn’t practice until 8/15 (after they signed Cook). He still managed to start, although he was on a pitch count - one that in retrospect was probably unnecessary. I expect Williams to play -and potentially start- week one, although I’d expect a pitch count for him, too.

Lazard made me sick last year but, despite a couple drops, he seems to’ve had a good camp this year. If he’s not much improved, I’d expect Williams’ reps to increase accordingly.

He’ll be 80% ish until November and then 90% ish.

80% of Mike Williams would have been our #1 WR pre G5 going back to Brandon Marshall and easily the best #2 since Decker.

It's hard to say the bolded with any confidence. We have no way of knowing what sort of setbacks taking it slow with Breece may have prevented.

id gather he wont get any snaps in an actual game until week 3 give or take a week.

Mike Williams (knee) will begin taking 11-on-11 reps in Jets practice Tuesday.

It’s perfectly-timed progression with the Jets’ opener now less than two weeks away. The 29-year-old could still be up against it to be fully ready for Week 1, but at worst, he’s going to miss a game or two. Most likely is that he’ll be active for the opener but perhaps on a snap count.

Williams was spotted on the stationary bike at Jets camp on Monday as he continues to rehab from last year’s torn ACL. The Jets activated Williams off the active/PUP list two weeks ago, and head coach Robert Saleh said he’s “further ahead than anticipated” in his recovery. Williams and the team haven’t committed to him playing in Week 1, but if all goes well next week, it wouldn’t be surprising if Williams were active for the Jets’ season-opener against the 49ers. This remains a wait-and-see situation, but things seem to be trending in the right direction.

He might be active but if he goes in I think it will be for only a handful of plays.  Maybe some deep shots.
