Popular Post Larz
Correct decision. getting 300 more reps than last year in camp while scheduling 3 shared practices and not playing in preseason games has proven to be an effective way to get the team ready with the least injury risk 9

Popular Post mrcoops
It will be fringe guys battling for the last couple of spots on the roster, and PS spots. You'll certainly see 100% effort, though you probably won't see great football. Peasley v Martinez for the PS QB spot is probably the highlight this weekend.
Popular Post Barry McCockinner
Hopefully they come out sharp at SF. Popular Post Sperm Edwards
From what I'm gathering, the reason these organized 2-team practices are increasingly more popular each year is the teams get more out of that than the preseason games. All the QBs still wear red jerseys, so they can try things out that they might otherwise not bother (if it risks a QB - never mind your QB1 - holding the ball longer & getting creamed in a live preseason game). You can practice running that - and the OL gets to practice holding their blocks for longer - without fear of losing your QB in preseason in the process. Also they don't have to wait for exact scenarios to practice it, which may not happen (especially in the limited snaps the starters get in preseason games). They can just agree, [we're on offense here and] "let's do a goal line possession" or just start the possession in or just-outside the red zone, or purposely very near or with their backs up against their own goal line. It makes sense they get more out of that than a vanilla handoff or quick slant, plus the smaller audience - especially if it's a team they don't face in the current season - means they can try a couple things out that maybe they wouldn't show it was televised. So it seems the net result is the actual preseason games are merely a useful way to iron out some communications among the coaches; for backups & roster-bubble guys to make (or miss) the cut; or if there's someone specific who needs to get work in (e.g. Tippmann getting in all the shotgun snaps they can do, lining up opposite unfamiliar DTs). On balance they just aren't as important for the starters anymore. 16

That and maybe to see if Codrington can add another nice return or two after what he did last week. I will watch because I am a Jet fan and its what I do. And as Jet fans, we have kind of gotten used to watching bad football. Hope that changes come Monday the 9th. 8

Larz
4 minutes ago, Barry McCockinner said: True, the Jets did dominate the Giants in practice. They have 2 key holdouts Jets have 1 CMC not practicing, Mike Williams soon to be practicing. The best time to get great teams is week 1. Once the staff gets to see them play they get better and better. The cheaters lost way more games early than late and usually cruised through December. The Jets can leave a day early to go west because it’s the opener they can practice T,W,Th, Fr and travel Saturday when typically Tuesday is the off day after a Sunday game. being a night game helps with Jet lag. 49ers have the better roster and much better staff but this is absolutely the week you want to go to their stadium 3
y2k8
At this point it's completely indefensible that NFL teams compel STHs to purchase tickets to these games. I mean, it was always silly, but now it's a absurd. They don't even finish these things a lot of the time. I can't believe no one has attempted a class action lawsuit yet.

Having a backup seemingly of his power and strength to get hard yards and having Breece taking less hits is much more key than it would appear. Davis seems like a tough guy, but losing Allen would be a massive blow to this team.
