OilfieldJet
Thanks Sarge, excellent work. Nice to see Smith and Codrington on the bubble at least. They have a chance to stick based on this game.
PepPep
This is awesome. Love it. A few of my own thoughts... OFFENSE: -No way Izzy makes the team. Should be in RED. JMHO but to me he is a goner, has been a goner and is just giving teams a chance to take a look at what he can do before gets cut or put on PS. IF the Jets carry a 4th RB, it will not be a guy who struggles in pass protection and can't play the H-back/FB role. -McCutcheon should be in red. He has been awful so far. Dropping passes on multiple targets. Showing that he can't really do much even when the Jets do get the ball in his hands. There is just zero chance he makes the roster. You can say the same think about B.Smith. He has actually not been bad. But this is a battle between Gibson, Charles and Brownlee to determine the #5/#6 WR spots. I don't think Smith or McCutcheon will be in the conversation. -Kuntz is not making the roster and should be in red. I think they should have given him more generated touches but he has simply done nothing this preseason. And for him to make the roster the Jets would have to carry 4 TEs. That's not happening, too much good depth at other positions. -I think this might really just be me but I think there is a decent chance the Jets carry Martinez as the #3 QB. He's got some really nice raw talent and some decent experience. I love his escapability and what he is able to do with his legs. He's got a great arm and decent upside. This is the type of young QB you may not want to leave on PS. I think he belongs in yellow. DEFENSE: -Codrington is an interesting case. I think JBC has done enough to solidify the 6th CB spot on the roster. Codrington has looked great as a returner. But is that enough to force the Jets hand to carry 7 CBs. I highly doubt it. Especially when they have Gibson, Corley and Davis who can all return and who pretty much have roster spots locked up. Sure, yellow is ok. But you can go ahead and put him in red. -Sam Eguavoen should be in red. The last spot (or two) at the LB position are going to Barnes and or Surratt depending on how many LBs they carry. -I think while some guys have more of an edge to make the roster (and quite possibly the coaches have already made their decision on some of them) ALL of the following should be in yellow - Takk McKinley, Jalyn Holmes, Bruce Hector, Tanzel Smart, Leonard Taylor III, Eric Watts, Braiden McGregor. IMO Takk, Holmes and LT III have the edge in snagging those last few roster spots as the Jets beef up on the interior. So you are on the money with that. But I see this as still a pretty open competition in this late stage.
