Takk McKinley

Recommended Posts

His performances have been good no doubt, but also against roster bubble OL in the pre season games.

He's looked good in practices too, of course, and against better opposition. But I'm tempering my expectations, if he gets even a few sacks this year he will be a success relative to what we paid for him.

I trust Ulbrich to play his cards right on the DL. He'll know whether takk is just a practice hero or can be the real deal for us.

Jets love their first rd reclamation projects on the DLine. We’ve had Solomon, Kinlaw and now Takk. This guy spoke on having some mental issues earlier on his career and how Jeff Ulbrich has always had his back. If it comes down to Takk or Clemons I’m saying goodbye to Clemons.

Good for him, Impossible not to root for.

My view, at least from watching him this preseason, is, he MUST make this team and be a prominent part of the defensive line rotation. He obviously has bought in and long ago, was a first round pick. So it’s not like he doesn’t have talent. Just put some guys around him that allow him to shine and he can dominate.

Love the way he looked tonight and most of the preseason. Feel like he has earned a spot on this team. Thoughts ?

I have many thoughts.  One, he was good, but was not alone last night on the D line. How about Leonard Taylor and Braeden McGregor?

McKinley and Twyman.

Is Michael Clemons better than all of these guys?

Maybe trade Reddick if we could, and save his $20M salary for resigning our other guys?

Cut Clemons, and keep 3 of the best 4 guys I just mentioned.  Trade Reddick.  That would give us 10 D linemen.

I think I could live with that.  What do you think?  I mean, Clemons got a total of 1/2 of 1 sack last year.  2.5 sacks in his rookie year.  His overall PFF was 65.9 last year.  Nothing special.  He had 18 solo tackles last year, with 8 assists.  Again, nothing special.

Takk, Mack, and LT3 are all really pretty, pretty good...

I would keep any of them over Clemons tbh. Hell, I like Solomon but he isn't really an impact player either. Gonna be tough cuts to be made. Those are good problems to have.

We cannot keep them all even if the Reddick situation remains unresolved.  I agree with the idea that other teams will be ready to pick over our DL waivers here.  Maybe even the Giants
