AFJF
Fotu is out for four weeks so the Jets big run stuffer up the middle is off the table. If I'm Joe D. I'm bringing Ika in for a look.

Bobby816
I am worried about our run D. Fotu out will hurt no question. Just can’t see a guy off the street making an impact. It will have to be guys in house stepping up. Issue that’s ignored with Taylor is that he isn’t good against the run really. He’s more of a get to the passer type DT. So the guys we need stepping up are Q, Kinlaw and Solly. Maybe have them focus more on clogging holes than getting to the QB early this season.
varjet
If there was any game this season where we needed Fotu, it was the 49ers. That is a bad matchup for the Jets. Basically similarly constructed teams, but overall they have better players and, more importantly, better coaching.

If they're out that's huge.
Mr. Rogers
8 minutes ago, AFJF said: Depends on the status of Trent Williams and Aiyuk. If they're out that's huge. That's definitely true, but ultimately it's our run defense (and subsequent play action defense) that's the top concern. Williams being out will hurt that, but Deebo and CMC are plenty to hurt us in the run game. I was worried when I saw Leki was out too. As mentioned before, Taylor is more of a pass rusher, and on paper Kinlaw is too. Solomon Thomas is going to be taking a lot of early down snaps, let's all hope he's up to the task. I am hopeful that Chuck Clark adds an element to the run defense we didn't have last year. I love Tony Adams, and he flashed at times, but also missed too many run support plays. Ashtyn Davis isn't much of a box safety either. Sauce and Reed will be on islands more often than usual this game, I think, so let's hope they're using those paydays as motivation too

There's no there there, certainly not enough to slot that guy into the rotation as an immediate injury replacement

He only had *looks up* zero tackles his rookie season.

slats
Jets are currently carrying 11 DL in addition to having Fotu potentially available after week four. I doubt they’re in the DL market. At this point, they’re more likely to be sellers than buyers.

That's only five fewer than Quincy Williams had the year before the Jets kicked the tires on him.
