Boyle hit the jackpot getting signed as an UDFA behind Rodgers. Teams love to take a chance on a backup who sat behind a HOF QB. Boyle is a worse version of Ryan Mallet. If pretty much any other team had signed Boyle as an UDFA, he'd be an analyst for Connecticut college games right now.

He’s made $7MM+ playing in the NFL and - even more than for his on-field performance - was released for sharing privileged team info with the press.

He’s not getting a coaching gig so fast either. At least this way he stays in game-shape should an emergency arise that promotes him back to an active roster again.
