Jets Release WR Jason Brownlee; 8/30 Added to Practice Squad

Recommended Posts

Good,  In a video I posted Charlie was making good progress as a receiver.

Much more physical, bigger frame. James Franklin called Sir Charles the

finest receiver he ever coached. I wish Corley would stop trying to

run over defenders and used his blockers instead. Quickness and route

running more important  for a receiver. Players insisting on running over defenders as

their go to move wind up on the injured reserve

Maybe he lands on the PS, but the numbers were against his staying on the 53.

Yup.  Especially since Gipson and Charles add something on special teams.

yeah but he aint on nobody's bubble

no but the point is it's all a business still and the coaches/gm don't really gaf. if he has zero guaranteed money and he gets season ending injury game 1 thats it. they can just cut him basically. i don't blame these players for trying to get theirs

Such a tough 24 hours for the bubble guys.  PS ain’t bad work though, I think it’s up to 300k.

Tanzel Smart has made a good living bouncing on and off the PS.

To be brutally honest ... there's a lot more talented WRs still without a team who'll get picked up long before Brownlee.

This. Our WR room is GW, an oft-injured Mike Williams, and a bunch of average at best NFL receivers. If you can't stick here, you're not sticking many other places.

Jets fans were screaming about getting this nothing on the field last year.

This yewr some of us were salivating about convincing Corey Davis to don

a green jersey again.  What about giving Allen Robinson 31 years old, 562 career rec

a chance to compete with Alan Lazard

A guy like Brownlee would have been WR4 on this team just a few years ago.  He's a good developmental player, but it's honestly a good thing when the Jets are able to let a player like him go because they have better guys than him.
"One day the Jason Brownlee type of player will no longer be on the Jets roster"
