Time to prove it

Recommended Posts

Well, the offseason is over, so is the training camp and preseason, and now the season is about to begin. On paper the Jets look like the team to beat and championship material but again that is on paper. Now is the time to prove that they are for real, they all have to prove that they can win.

1) Aaron Rodgers has to prove that he still has gas in his tank, and he has unfinished business.

2) The oline did not play together in the preseason and they have to come out and protect Aaron Rodger all season and create holes for RB Breece Hall.

3) The WR's including TEs all have to step up and cannot make excuses, why they cannot get open or dropping the ball.

4) The defense needs to step again but this time it is different because teams will be challenging them on running and passing games. They will face tough offenses and QBs that will do everything to score.

5) Salah needs to coach and finally prove that he can lead this team. He has to make the right decisions and not be a dead coach walking, if he wants to stay as head coach.

This team needs to prove this season by making to the playoffs but most of all beating the best teams they face.

Remember, this is still the NY Jets we are talking about.  I am hopeful, but not as confident as I wish I were going into San Francisco on Monday night.

This is  such a great post!!

It's the Energy  all of us long standing Jets fans are feeling entering 2024. Excited about the free agents signed.....excited about our draft picks...

excited about OTAs and  TC... and then.a national opening game  to showcase our team with Superbowl aspirations... National exposure on MNF against a great team............

and.... and.....and.....it's another season of disappointment.

We all know how good this team can be!

can we finally go out and prove it , without the usual let downs?

We are not the same old jets fans -its just this pattern of watching the jets for >50 years has repeated so many times ......

Go Jets!!

The league is not ready for this team.

Top 5 run blocking line with Hall and Allen.

Top 10 pass blocking line with Rodgers, G5, Williams and Gipson and Corley.

Top 3 defense with or without Reddick. This defense finally gets to play with an offense that can give them rest and a lead.

Outstanding special teams with very good kicker and punter.

The Media is skeptical of AR age, our injury prone aging line, the health of Mike Williams, the coaching of Hackett and Saleh..., the dysfunction of Jets ownership, the Haasan Reddick debacle-

NIck Wright from Fox picking Jets 3d in AFC East -

Colin Cowherd daily trashing JETS

Prove them all wrong Aaron-

Just WIN on MNF !!

If this offense is even average, the defense will be attacked differently than we have seen the prior two seasons. No more conservative game plans. Will be interesting to see how our defense plays when / if teams know they need to get into the high 20’s to 30’s point range to win games. Please offense, stay healthy and be respectable lol.

Nobody likes sitting next to a fan who has shat himself on 4th and 4 with 40 seconds left trailing by 4.  Nobody wants to break out the defibrillator and miss the game winning touchdown because you weren’t prepared for the Jets to be good and decided now was a great time to have the big one.

Having a winning team requires a completely different approach to being a fan.  In shape and regular are a must.

This isn’t fan camp cupcake anymore.  It’s time to get off the couch and put in the miles.  Put down the Ice cream and eat some broccoli.

This could be the season we’ve all been waiting for.  Stay frosty Jets fans.

excellent point. with a healthy Rodgers other teams know they need to score and score alot. this defense hasn't faced that yet.

Everyone needs to forget about the big picture.  Don't think about the playoffs or even week 2.  This team is LOADED.  We have 17 opportunities to watch the best team we've ever fielded and it needs to be appreciated like a fine bourbon.

Sip it.  Savor it.  Live in the now every week even in the losses.  Don't freak out over the little things, don't overreact to everything.

Strap in and enjoy the ride.  We don't get these opportunities very often.

You can say the same things about any team.  They all depend on their QBs to be effective and how they go the teams go.  As for the jets, I don’t really think it matters if Rodgers is 40 versus 30.  He’s proven in camp that he can still throw the ball and is still motivated to play hard.  This is in contrast to when Namath went to the rams and didn’t do well.  His heart just wasn’t in the game anymore.  As for the rest of the jets team, imo, the only issue is the oline playing up to their potential.  Will smith revert to his all pro status?  Will Moses come off injury? Will Simpson play hard?  Big years for tipp and avt too.  And saleh needs to have a much better grasp of how the game flows and the importance of the offense in winning games.  They won’t be able to play it safe in every game.  There may be some shootouts.  We’ll see what happens.  It should be a good season for jets fans.

Along with that comes the existential/spiritual inner work of separating what goes on outside the self (the Jets winning/losing) with what goes on inside the self.  We are not the Jets win/loss record, and we can separate their success/failure with our own personal journey.  :)

Sure I can get my heart beat down into the 30’s, slow my breathing down to a couple of breaths a minute, completely turn off all the noise in my head and see the beauty in the gray my mind has visualized it’s encased in. Just not 15 minutes before the game or for 3 hours after the game is over.  During that period my pupils are dilated something wicked.  My Kishes are out of sorts and my heart beat is around 135. I’m all in and it doesn’t matter one bit about my spirit or existential well being.  Come Monday night  my spirit, my mood, my love of family and country is tied to one thing.  The NY Jets getting a win against the SF 49ers
