Joe whiffed on a 24 million dollar CJ

Conklin is very avg at best- 2 catches 16 YTD

This is why folks wanted Brock-it was a no brainer-jets have no viable TE and need somebody other than Wilson to catch the ball

Thanks Joe

Trade Reddick to the Falcons for Kyle Pitt.

I was a big fan of Pitt coming out in the draft but he hasn’t been great and he’s really Plaxico Burress and not a TE.  He has definitely had his moments in the NFL but he should have been better.  I dunno let’s see him play a full season with a qb who doesn’t totally suck

The group is underwhelming as a whole. Conklin isn't awful and Rodgers doesn't use the TE all that much.

We'd all love to see Bowers on the squad. He'd still be an immediate contributor and another weapon for the offense. That said, fashanu is excellent depth at tackle when we have an oft injured LT.

The most important thing this season is a healthy Aaron Rodgers and fashanu is the LT of the future.

Ron Middleton is not head coaching anything.

Ruckert should be contributing more.  Teams have found good TEs in the 3rd round and lower.  That is why JD did not take Brock Bowers.  But this is a JD-ism.  He needs to put a winning team on the field.  In a go for broke 2024, we have a T on the bench and no receiving TEs.

When was the last time Tyron Smith played a full season

Olu is going to play this year at some point

And it's been 2 games

Conklin will get his numbers

Relax. Only two games into the season. Considering Conklin is a good blocker, his average of 60 receptions per season is pretty respectable. Ruckert is used as a blocker. Maybe that's all he can do well. It's too early in the season to worry about it.

No, this is why we didn’t take bowers. This offense with Aaron Rodgers doesn’t utilize the TE position. You don’t draft a TE that high to give him 30-40 targets a year. Rodgers, year in and year out, has the lowest percentage of passes thrown to the middle of the field, the area of the field where TE’s do their work. Conklin is a professional TE, he’s going to have a down year though because he won’t be utilized.

Rodgers does not use TEs, historically

I find it interesting that Braelon Allen called out Ruckert for the block that sprung his TD run. The TD that won us the game. For a young guy coming off his first "big game" to credit the guys around him was refreshing.

Guys don't just contribute via stats. Blocking wins game too. :-)

it's not like rodgers is putting up fifty passes per game.  the te's will get involved as pass receivers, probably when hall and allen stop being good.  right now they're used mainly for blocking.  ruckert had a chance but didn't run under the ball.

The Raiders are pumping the ball to Bowers because a., they’re getting absolute squat from their RB position and b., teams that make questionable draft picks often do all they can to make that pick look less questionable (see Pitts’ rookie year).

They're "pumping the ball" to prove to a point?  lmfao.  Is that what you're telling yourself to feel better about being flat out wrong? lololololololololol

No way!?!??!  These TE's suck??? What???  I was told Conklin was a severely underrated, talented dude, who was ready to ball out and not a slug who cant run routes and isnt anything more than a check down dump off option!

Unfortunately, compared to feel-good Long Island Local interest story Jeremy Ruckert, he's Tony ******* Gonzalez...

Is he though?   There isnt a single moment this season where I can point to Conklin providing anything, whereas, that last TD run by Allen, was all Ruckert destroyed the DE in front of him and made a massive hole that Allen's Nana could have run through.
