Rodgers' TD to Garrett Wilson was....

The first TD in his career to a receiver drafted in the 1st round.

The Packers are a criminally overrated franchise.

I remember reading Rodgers really wanted them to trade up for Justin Jefferson. They traded up in the first, but for Jordan love not Justin Jefferson lol.  Sure that had to really piss off rodgers, especially after they let Adams go.

Let’s not act like the Packers left the cupboard bare - this point is kind of becoming trope. They consistently found and developed excellent receivers later in the draft. Driver, Jennings, Nelson, Cobb, Adams, and so on. sh*t, I’d take other positions in the first if I hit on receivers late like they did.

Rodgers made Jordy and Cobb.  Cobb did absolutely nothing with his post-Rodgers years.

I shared this in another thread, but the only reason this isn't Rodgers first career TD pass to ANY first rounder is thanks to Mercedes Lewis :) last man standing from the 2006 draft class. Only been in the league 1 less year than Rodgers, and they actually only broke the 1st round streak a few years ago!

Kinda wild to think about. I was only just getting old enough to really follow football around the time these two came into the league. Funny to see Rodgers break this streak for the Jets some 20 years later

Is that true? That can't be true. I know it is true but hot damn.

This always amazed me.  Here is GB's history of first round picks while they had Rodgers:

Year Pick Player Position
2005 24 Aaron Rodgers MVP Quarterback
2006 5 A. J. Hawk Linebacker
2007 16 Justin Harrell Defensive tackle
2008 No pick
2009 9 B. J. Raji Defensive tackle
  26 Clay Matthews III Linebacker
2010 23 Bryan Bulaga Tackle
2011 32 Derek Sherrod Tackle
2012 28 Nick Perry Defensive end
2013 26 Datone Jones Defensive end
2014 21 Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Safety
2015 30 Damarious Randall Safety
2016 27 Kenny Clark Defensive tackle
2017 No pick
2018 18 Jaire Alexander Cornerback
2019 12 Rashan Gary Defensive end
  21 Darnell Savage Safety
2020 26 Jordan Love Quarterback
2021 29 Eric Stokes Cornerback
2022 22 Quay Walker Linebacker
  28 Devonte Wyatt Defensive end
2023 13 Lukas Van Ness Defensive end

Offensive players: Two OTs.  One QB.

Defensive players: 3 DTs, 5 DEs, 3 LBs, 3 Safeties, 2 CBs

Not a single WR, RB, or TE in 18 years.

Just because the Packers are a significantly better franchise than us (low bar to clear) doesn't mean they aren't overrated.

2 Super Bowl Wins and a pretty great W/L record is better than most franchises have in that period.

Obtaining two long-serving HOF QB's is pretty neato too.  Most teams don't have any HOF QB's in this period.

No one holds them up with the Pats or Chiefs as the GOAT franchise, but they're solid 2nd tier in terms of winning, if not titles.  Pretty similar to the Broncos and Giants and Bucs who all have multiple over that same period, but aren't in the Chiefs/Pats realm.

I'm glad you took some time out of what must be the busiest Friday of the year to comment. Today has been so busy that guys that usually have dozens of posts a day are seemingly so busy that they can barely find the time to type out a few words about last night's dominant win. Funny how that goes 😂

How many of them are considered "excellent" BECAUSE of the QB they got to play with...
