not for nothing but getting injured so often has got to affect his game play.  i can't imagine he's going all out on

Him and Fashanu we're the main reasons why are running game suffered. We need a new RG, and Fashanu needs to live in the weight room this off-season.

I asked this before, so who is playing RG?   Both newman and schwitzer are listed as out no?
Can olu play guard?  Mitchell?  Warren?
Jake Hanson played last week.

It was Hanson last week. He gave up the sack on the missed FG drive late when he decided to triple team the NT instead of take on the blitzing linebacker. Looked like a breece TD if Rodgers gets another .2 seconds

edit: this is the play I was talking about

Every move JD has made has backfired.

Trade up in the draft, giving up 2 third rounders on a rebuilding team to get a guard.  Bad move

Then, that guard is always hurt, just makes it worse.   In JD's defense, he wasn't hurt much in college, but you don't use 3 premium draft choices on 1 guard.

Dude you don't let go of young solid olineman. They can structure the contract and protect themselves

I actually somewhat agree, but it's all gonna come down to price point. Jets will probably be up against the cap next year, particularly if/when GW and Ahmad extensions happen. Some rebuilding team with tons of cap space may be willing to give him more than he's really worth, and the Jets need to let him walk if that's the case.

If the jets can get him on a short deal (3 years or less), ideally with a team option and around league average OG pay, bringing him back is obvious. The talent is there and admittedly the injuries seem to be a bit of bad luck - always on notoriously bad fields (Denver and ours).

He'll get better each week. It's tough to come back from serious injury

Unrelated but also: never trade up for a guard

many NFL teams subscribe to 4 tackles and a center philosophy

the Birds are extreme examples but the original idea comes from the Andy Reid tree

why not have guards like Landon Dickerson and Mekhi Becton?

or Max Mitchell and Olu Fashanu? or Warren

keep drafting tackles and move them to guard

AVT has been an injury bust

It is what it is

Yeah that's why we were told we had to take Becton over Wirfs. Wirfs made pro bowl as an LT last year btw.
