RUMOR: Woody might not be choosing next regime

Recommended Posts

Ownership shared the secret plans …

…with …Adams

ok

Who knows , it could be true, but very unlikely England takes him back. He let an American diplomats wife literally get away with murder and was caught using a slur on the staff.

Imagine owning a sports franchise worth North of $5 billion and volunteering to be an errand boy for a politician.

This is the same guy who said that thinking was overrated so I’m not surprised at

Not to get into specifics of how I heard this rumor as it was really non-football related and comes from my career/industry.

The expectation is that if Donald Trump wins the election Woody Johnson will be joining his administration again (not sure exact position or if it would be English Ambassador again). Woody has not only been leading the fundraising organizing this campaign but has been routinely having meetings that go far beyond what a donor/supporter is typically involved in. Nothing shocking really until…

…apparently as recent as this week Woody has spoken to Chris Johnson about transitioning football control over to Chris again and CJ has had meetings with none other than Rodgers + Davante (who apparently both made it clear their intentions to return and play next season).

So in the even that Donald Trump wins the election it looks like Aaron Rodgers + Davante Adams (with Chris Johnson nodding and drooling) will be deciding our new GM/HC …

Take with a grain of salt, ignore, whatever you like. I did label this as a rumor so I guess we’ll see.

Hopefully they let Joe Douglas just pick his new HC

I think that Coach Brick would have to make it to the divisional or conference championship game AT LEAST to get the gig full time.

He’s cheap and willing. (Insert joke here)

I have high hopes for him. I think he could be a good HC, but I don’t really know his organizational, leadership, overall schematic X’s and O’s Skills. I just think he has the right personality that this job requires + it would be nice to not have to go through another head coaching search. He’s a former player who I think can connect with players and that matters.

But the odds are stacked against him. He’s a DC who coached under a HC whose specialty was defense. That drops value from the start. Can he truly oversee the entire team?

I think we need a proven HC who has the gravitas to change the culture and lead the organization but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

Maybe something gets worked out where Woody can have rights to a London franchise and he has to divest control?

Sadly I think that the league would move the Jets to London with Woody and make a new team in NY/NJ before they make Woody own a new franchise for London.
