How do we feel so far about LT3?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I like him.  He's looked pretty solid.  Nothing flashy but he's stood out when given the opportunity.  I think he can be a solid 3rd down, passing situation DT.  Maybe a guy who can spell Quinnen here and there.  A solid #3 or 4 with potential to become a starter at some point.  Definitely a guy who would be worth keeping around.

he's like a very very poor man's Quinnen which is fine and has value but the Jets defense needs a run stopper not really more quinnens for third down

I believe the proper term you're looking for is "big fatties".

For a first year UDFA he’s impressed and really flashed some great power and quickness, it was interesting watching the game back how much all 3 (Taylor, Watts & McGregor) rookie free agents played last week and were around the ball….for everything that goes in the ‘case against Joe Douglas’ column his finding of three solid (with potential for more) rotational young prospects outwith the draft is commendable and a tick, albeit a light one, in the ‘case for’ box …kudos also to the defensive coaches for having them prepared to contribute early as rookies

Yeah everyone loves to roll eyes at a strong run D as though running the ball and stopping it is anachronism from the 1950s. That is, until the team's run D isn't so great and the f'ing Patriots run into the endzone 3x against you in what should be an easy game the team can ill-afford to lose.

Imagine if the rush defense was actually bad lol.

This is with everyone running at them because the pass rush and pass coverage is so good

Yards per game is skewed because on a % basis the jets face the most attempts because of the aforementioned pass defense

the offense and special teams have to get their sh*t together and give the defense a lead to work with

that’s when the magic happens

Should've been drafted.  Jets got a steal.
