So you want to be sh*tty forever ?

So you know nothing about Todd Monken and have never watched Cam Ward but felt the need to comment?

Thanks.

I have a great idea, let’s hire a first time GM, then a first time head coach, then a first time offensive coordinator, a first time defensive coordinator, and oh yeah, draft a QB and have him start as of the first game

This would be a horrible idea.

HC: Todd Monken

Jets had a chance to land him a few years ago and screwed up royally by hiring Adam Gase.

OC: Josh McCown

Has seen and run it all.  Monken should still be calling plays but McCown would be a valuable voice on the sidelines/QB room and could learn from Monken.

Gap QB: Jameis Winston

Played some of his best football in the past under Monken in Tampa.

Draft Pick QB: Cam Ward or Jaxson Dart

Ward is likely gone by the time the Jets pick and there's not another QB worth taking in the top 10 for the Jets.  I'd take somebody like Dart (or insert name of your preferred QB)

It would assume he is high on most HC candidates lists. Lamar has been better since he has been the OC.

Given the likely scenario of Chicago and Jax having a need for a HC and QBs with unrealized potential.  I would guess he would  prefer those landing spots.

Jameis is a nice interim QB to help fix the lockeroom.

Given all the outside talk of Woody interference.  That will be a hard pill for a prospective HC with choices.

And it's more than just Lamar.

I can't think of a single QB (college or pro) who did not play their best football under Monken.  Every single guy at every level and that includes Jameis.

Having Woody as the owner is going to make any hire difficult unless you're targeting guys who nobody else is calling.

Todd Monken is one of my top choices unless Kevin Stefanski gets fired by Cleveland. I agree that Jameis would be a good gap guy for a couple of years. I don’t follow college football much so I don’t have much of an opinion about college QBs. McCown would probably be fine as OC because Monken would probably design and call the offense.

Browns said a week or so ago that Stefanski is safe.

I'd feel horrible about that. McCown as OC really ?? an Int nachine at QB really ...

I appreciate the out of the box thinking ... But this would be vomit inducing.

Did you read what I said about him?

Monken would still be calling plays while McCown, who has played in a million systems, could leaen feom Minken and also be a guy for young QBs to lean on.

Look at how Sam Darnold is playing rn with McCown, who was a mentor here, in that Minnesota QB room.

As OC I am confident that he wouldn’t throw any ints.
