I like the idea of the "Secret Society of Stonecutters" thread. It might....might...stop some threads from turning into JI/JN cluster F's, which is a good thing I suppose.

I only have one problem with it really......

I assume some of the best and most frequent posters are in it's inner circle. So a poster in good standing, not on the list, logs on to talk some football, shoot the sh$t, or whatever, and all the quality posters are off in their private forum.

Blackout, the forum is VIP for a reason. If we were to let everyone in then why even create it? For the meantime, as I said before, in a month the existing members of that forum will vote on all requests to join that forum. Moaning and groaning will not help your cause.

There is no mess to clean up. It will be handled in a professional fashion as it has been so far. I understand those who are not in right now are upset, but I think once the membership begins to vote on prospective new members, most people will be happy with the way things work out. Be patient.

One requirement that I instilled was absolutely no football or sports in general be discussed in the private forums. Members are encouraged to post in the regular forums frequently. Thr private forum is not to be mistaken as a place to stay permanently, but rather a place where occasionally you drop in for more adult content. Smizzy actually felt we should require that members do not post exclusively in the private forum, but I think that won't be a problem.

First of all Bklackout, it is my understanding you are under 18 years old which would disqualify you from being a member to begin with. Quite frankly I doubt anyone who requests would be denied unless there is a strong reason as to why. When candidates are denied, each member who cast a negative vote must state exactly why they feel that way so the issues can be further discussed and relayed to the candidate. Basically put, there will have to be a VERY GOOD REASON as to why you were denied.

Sounds like your just trying to play favorites here and for people who aren't on the in such as myself are just going to be given false hope of joining this by "wait another month".

No offense, but there are plenty of better ways to handle something like this, especially going around advertising it amongst everybody.

A separatist faction, whether real or imagined, whether paid for or free, creates an exclusionary platform from which to preach.

You want to say you are open to all ideas-Please check those ideas at the door.

You want to say all are welcome and there is freedom of choice-Well there is freedom, but just to what we want you to see.

What was supposed to be an ideal society, founded upon the freedoms to say what you want (within reason) now becomes say what you want (within reason) where we want you to say it. And excuse us while we snicker at you behind the closed and locked door in the attic. Pass the joint, Smizz.

I always felt kind of odd, as we would have 30 people come to our apartment after the bars in college, and then we privately went upstairs in a group of 5 or so partake in head candy. Kinda like we felt that we were above it all, in our own private party while we hung upstair, while the other party went on without us. Now I can see why that felt odd.
