Last season, Kaz Matsui opened up the Mets season with a HR on the FIRST PITCH he faced from Russ Ortiz. His season went completely downhill from then on.

Today, Kaz, batting 2nd this opening day, just hit a homerun off Cincy's Paul Wilson in his first at-bat. Hopefully that trend will be broken this season.

Inning over. Pedro on the hill! (Btw, Beltran grounded out in his 1st AB)

1-0 Mets. =D>

Yes, Smizzy you are right. They started slowly and built momentum throughout the year and then POW! They beat the Yanks in the Playoffs and won the WS. The yanks have a good team, but you can't really count out any team...especially a team that has spent like the Mets have. This was one game...
