It was important to take the series from White-Sox to start to alleviate some of the doubts Tigers have 62 wins. No team in the AL who has won 95 or more has missed the playoffs since the divisional series began in the mid 1990s. That means teh Tigers can go something like 31-36 or so, and still win 95.
