Would anybody be surprised if no QB was named

I could see us finding out who the #1 QB is when he walks on the field to take the first snap of the season. Unless one QB completely dominates the other QBs in camp, I think Mangini goes in to game one with the starting QB as a "game time decision"

I think so too. Can't do any harm anyway and gives them a little element of surprise. Unless somebody lights it up and the writing is on the wall as far as who the starter will be, why not just keep it under wraps?

Imagine Jets' fans collective gasp if Bollinger or Smith were to trot on to the field to get under center.... LOL

If you're saying its a good idea not to publicly announce it..it wouldn't work. The media would see "the starter" working out with the first team in practice and would report such.

If you're saying we should continue the 4 QB rotation throughout the preseason just so we can spring "a surprise" opening day..that's a horrible idea.

The starting QB needs to work with the starting team and maximize his reps.
