#27TheDominator
Anyone else have a big red light flashing in their eyes? Pass on Brown - not a Mangini type of player. Why? Because of something his agent said? I don't like the way he plays, but there is nothing wrong with this. Even the agent said he wouldn't hold out, he just left his options open, so that if he holds out in the future he won't sound like Herm swearing that he never thought about the Chiefs job. This article says nothing other than the agent is trying to meet with the FO.
Sperm Edwards
The problem isn't Brown. It's what it will cost to get him: a first-day pick and a nice new contract, making a 1st-round RB next year less likely. The problem with many of these guys (Turner excluded) is they're starters & will want extensions for starter-money. Turner could be extended for reasonable dollars & if he turns out to be the real thing you can always give him more but you can't give him less. Not so with Brown or Jones (assuming either is even available). Anyone here really want part of Marcel Sh.it?
faba
I think we do not need another injury plagued player to bring on our roster no matter what- give me someone that is young and healthy-coming out of next year's draft

If you want to say he's not our style of player because he gets hurt a lot, doesn't fit our style of running game, etc, I'm fine with that... But this "Mangini type player" is just made up. He's hurt a lot, he has a big mouth (or his agent does) and he's not a team guy. End of story.

It looks like Corey Dillon's act is working in New England, and he was more of a problem than Chris Brown. Of course, he's more of a player too but you see my point. Sorry for the cliche, then, but I stand by the sentiment - Chris Brown is not the type of player that at this point in his career will work out for this coaching staff. Dillon's act was "I've lost for long enough, I want to win" not "Pay me".

faba
Brown has been injured so often so that should be the main reason not to bring him in and give a draft pick up

Boozer76
Wait, I thought we were going to get Walter Payton II from San Diego for a 2nd rounder!!?? Didn't you all see the highlight video? The guy is clearly Earl Campbell, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, and Emmitt Smith all rolled up into one body!!

Probably not half as fun as prancing around as a big Northern Illinois fan who knew this kid throughout his entire career. If he was so great all this time, why did he last until the 5th round only to be taken as SD's backup? Obviously the great oktaren knows more about football than the entire staff of 32 NFL teams including coaches, scouts and GM's. All hail the allmighty oktaren. #27TheDominator
Exactly my point - Dillon already got paid and wanted to win. Brown just wants to get paid. No. He threw a fit to get his money. Said he'd hold out and flip burgers rather than play for the Bengals because they didn't pay him. Plenty more and plenty of backstabbing at teammates. He always had a complaint. Maybe you don't remember. Once he got his money then he started complaining about the losing. Thing is, his complaint is with the coach that's winning. Or do you think he orchestrated his move from Cincy to get away from all those unsavory characters?

Oh, Dillon was a douche bag - no doubt about it, but he got his money and then left to win. Brown is bitching about money and wants to leave to get it. Add to that Brown is nowhere near as good as Dillon was in his prime and you have a perfect reason to pass on him. I'm not a fan, as you can tell, of athletes that have not proved their worth complaining about not getting paid.
