Am going to see my first Jets game in Meadowlands on Sept 1 v Eagles. Looking for advice on best way to get to stadium from NY city. What is the story with public transport from Port Authority or would it be reasonable to get taxi there and back? Any adivce welcome from Jets fans!!!

it's a Paddy Positioning System, locate and place a Paddy . . .

Seriously, as a fellow Irishman who started the treak out to the Medowlands over ten years ago, the bus is the easy option.

Various girlfriends and cars later, I still prefer the bus. Driving a car

can be a a one to two hour trip back to Manhatten because of post game

traffic - totally deflating excercise when we lose. I drove during a Kotite year and boy did it suck royally.

You go to Port authority at Eight avenue and between 41st and 42nd street. THe ticket desk is at the very back of the ground floor. The buses leave every twenty minutes or less starting several hours before game time.

The trip takes about 30 minutes max. sometimes less depending on the traffic/how close to actual game time.

Yes, they do return trips back to Port Authority after the game. Cost ?

It's cheap compared to a bad beer or lousey hot dog at the stadium.

The one draw back is the lines for the return buses are loonng and you have cretins jumping the que countinuosuly. Be advised to tear your self away from the game early or be prepared to que for a minimum of 30 minutes to get back on a bus. A lot of beer is consumed by good people and absolute degenerates alike so if you call anyone out on jumping ahead prepared to exchange licks.

As an added side bonus some gratuitous breast flashing sometimes goes on on the circular walkways between the different levels during half time, a needy lift during a rebuilding period (opps, there I said it, folks, we're rebuilding !)

Go n'eirigh on Bothar (Route 3) leat.

Thanks Gangrene - advice appreciated.

Ireland are playing Germany in the Euro 2008 qualifiers on the Saturday and the All-Ireland Hurling Final is on the Sunday, any good NYC bars to watch the games in?

Go raimh mile maith agat mo chara!!!

We all love the Jets, but most of us have resigned ourselves to the fact that they're going to suck.

Not BZ, though. He's making hotel reservations for Super Bowl weekend. ;)
