An entertaining read for Yankee Fans....

I'm starting to think they don't have much of a chance either. I don't really root for them as much as I root against the yanks. Just so happens that the best shot of the yankees not making the playoffs is if the sox win the division. But its coming to the point where you just have to say "**** em, if they can't win they don't deserve it. Hope the yanks lose in the WC series again.

There is still plenty of baseball left. What if the Sox sweep the Yankees? Then what?

It's too early for stories like that.

No mate, it's over. The Sox 2006 season is done. They will be lucky to win 2games out of 5 over the weekend.

Just to make myself look worse I will find the thread I started at the All-Star break with my crack predictions for the postseason.

I would have to agree. Take away the Oriles and NL and the Sox are like 42-47. Maybe good for being competitive for the wildcard inthe NL, but sucking in the AL.

Too many chinks int he armor for the Sox to win anything this year. They will stumble to 90-95 wins, but in all probability they will need close to 100 for the wildcard.

I don't understand. How could a team with the #2 payroll in baseball not make the playoffs? I thought it was all about the money. Confusing.

I was trying to calculate the record sans interleague play and the Birds. Thanks for the answer. It was around what I thought it was.
