Maxman
the Mets wouldn't win the World Series this year withouth Barry Zito. I was right. Just wanted to remind you about that.

mbn007
If Pedro is not pitching on Oct. 3rd, and the rotation is Glavine, El Duque, Traschel and Maine, in whatever sequence, the Mets may not get out of the NL Division Series.
shawn306
I don't see the Mets getting out of the divison series. Their best pitcher the last couple of weeks has been Trachsel.
Scott Dierking
Can someone please tell me what has changed between last week and today? It is true that pitching will take the Mets (or any team) as far as it goes. My preference would have been to get a flamethrower at the deadline. The Sanchez injury threw a wrench in that situation. All of that said-i wll take teh Mets position, and where they stand today, over any other team in baseball at this point.
mbn007
I don't see the Mets getting out of the divison series. Their best pitcher the last couple of weeks has been Trachsel. I disagree. Maine has been their best. Traschel wins, but pitches ugly, so to speak. Look at his stats, on a game-by-game basis. Not pretty.
shawn306
Trachsel is 7-1 in his last 10 starts. He may pitch ugly but for whatever reason the Mets win for him.
mbn007
Trachsel is 7-1 in his last 10 starts. He may pitch ugly but for whatever reason the Mets win for him. His pitching performances do not translate well for wins in post season.
Scott Dierking
Trachsel is 7-1 in his last 10 starts. He may pitch ugly but for whatever reason the Mets win for him. Trachsel will be a HORRIBLE, I repeat HORRIBLE postseason pitcher. He has so many idiosyncrancies and needs everything perfect so that he can't disrupt routine. A simple rain delay drives this man to irration at no end and causes him to deflate. The postseason is all about beraking routine and not knowing exactly when your next start may be, or, if you may be used out of teh bullpen. I would suggest the Mets even keep him off their postseason roster. Hwe will be useless to them in that spot. Mark my wrods, if trachsel needs to be used out of teh bullpen in a tight spot in a game, he will implode and give up 5 runs
Jet/BosoxFan
Here is my prediction, the team that makes it to the postseason and manages to be the hottest beginning in early October will win the World Series! But what do I know, its only been that way since the beginning of time!?!?!? Much to the dismay of the homerish partisan hacks that frequent this board and pretned the pitching-starved, unclutch Yankees are destined to win that elusive World Series while poo-pooing every other team on the planet. EVEN THE METS, THE ONE TEAM THAT WRAPPED UP THEIR DIVISION BY MID-APRIL! Yankee fans, this is why we Yankee haters all come together and gleefully partake in your misery. Next time I hope you wont ask why...

GimmeShelter
Yank fans should worry more about the recent starts of Moose and Wang. Especially if Wang pitches on the road.

Scott Dierking
pedro went on the DL after getting his low 80's fastball ripped around the yard. And that necessarily means it will be so in October? Supply substantiating evidence.
