trend
Halloween is coming. Is this 'Ring and Run'? Heh, seriously, I don't EVER like to see anyone hurt. It's a horrible sentiment. That being said, something like this is just another intangible indicator that our inner mojo has indeed changed. As in you-just-can't-script-it is somebody else's bad luck. As in NOT the same old Jets. Nope. Not. The worm has definitely turned for us, man. Get well soon, Johnny Glass Pants Fixed it for you....

#27TheDominator
You guys are a joke. The guy is having surgery. Happy now? If you don't think this D misses him you're nuts. For the record, YES, I would have made the deal to trade him to Atlanta, but the way you guys hate him is a joke. There are plenty of jokers, hurt all the time you consider "warriors." Where is Curtis? He can't even try to practice.

Sure the guy misses plenty of time, but he's a beast when on the field. Also, some joker was telling me that "nobody has missed more time without a surgery," well according to this article this will be at least his 4th or 5th surgery attempting to fix the problem and he won't be missing the season just 3-4 weeks. PS: It's fine to gloat, I just don't agree with this one.

I find it difficult to reconcile how attached so many have gotten to a guy that's given us but 6 quarters of football. We'll be fine. B.) You can stick a fork in John Abraham, he's done. Time to look for a new DE. C.) What? He just had surgery? wtf is that??? D.) What another waste of ######ing money. Hartwell now Abe. ######ing great. E.) That guys muscles are made out of tissue.. I wish we had listened to the Jets fans.. they are laughing at us right now. F.) We already got the best game we will ever get from him... G.) They should have known seeing as how he's only had four surgeries on his groin not to even acquire this guy before the dam* season. This is ridiculous. Another player whose collecting this money and doesn't play.

I went out to a bar to watch the gints/cowboys cause a good friend picked me up to go meet 2 other good friends (all giant fans). my 1st night out in years to watch a game & it was fun. anyway these dirtbag cowboy fans were cheering loud when arrington was carted off for a season ending injury....... thats just wrong imo boasting about a trade at abes expense doesn't strike me as too harsh

They kept franchising him and refusing to deal him or sign him long term. I understand not wanting to keep him with his injury history and high demands, but then trade the f'ing guy. The FO didn't exactly do right by him all these years.

I don't remember that at all. I remember some dumb story like them asking for 2 #1s or something, but I don't remember them ever seriously shopping him prior to Mangini. I don't care if everybody here hated him, the guy was the type of defensive playmaker we haven't had here since Gastineau. I think he was better than Douglas. I don't think he was a dog, but he was injury prone. I won't post on this again, because nobody agrees with me and I'm not going to change anybody else's mind about him and you guys aren't going to change mine. Sperm Edwards
Exactly. So we're supposed to give a commodity away below market value? And I wish someone would disrespect me by paying me $7M to play football for one year. We certainly WOULD have given him a long-term deal but for fear of this very thing. Something most fans would do for FREE if they had the means & ability. Stop crying tears for the monetary compensation of this gazillionaire. You're breaking my heart. Preston Howley III
This will be the fourth time Abraham has had surgery in his lower abdomen/groin in his career. He had surgery to repair a torn groin when he was with the New York Jets in 2003. Abraham also said he has had two hernia operations. I wasn't even aware of this. 4 times??? Not only that, but it was either that same year (2004), or the one before it, that Herm suggested Abe be moved to linebacker (I doubt he was serious, I think it was just lip service) because perhaps Abe was so injury prone due to being an undersized lineman. BUT Abe put the kibosh on it because of his pending contract expiration, and he didn't want to "get payed as a franchised linebacker" because they MAKE LESS MONEY. The guy is about making money, not earning it.
shawn306
If Abraham was not so injury prone and all about the money there is no doubt in my mind that he would still be a Jet and Ellis would be gone. You don't miss a playoff game because of the flu and you are throwing up. McNabb does it literally every week. The knee issue in 04 and the fact that he said he was watching out for his future while he was sitting out those games left a bad taste in alot of people's mouths. The guy only healthy year was when he was playing for a new contract. Well he got it and now it is the SOS. Probably best the Jets traded him. Preston Howley III
Probably best the Jets traded him. It was a no-brainer. The guy was a total douche-bag, and never missed a beat. Plus, even when he did play, he dogged it alot. He was my the "*ss scratcher and lolly gagger" I was always talking about. I swear if I didn't know any better he played drunk half the time. His groin/abdomen area must be as weak as his heart. I'm sure he'll enjoy his money as he sits quietly on the bench.

Someone should really bump all the threads from so-called Jets fans telling us how we'd suck so bad and should pay JAbe and all that. I'm guessing they all became Falcons fans though, I don't think I see those guys posting much anymore. Where did the Leinart fans go too, I know the porn star is still posting but everyone has him on ignore anyway, where are all the other ones? Did they become Cardinals fans? I'm guessing those types don't like offensive lines.

I know people throw the term "overrated" around way too much but in Abe's case it is very appropriate. Look up the term "stat guy" and a picture of John Abraham is right next to it. This D would suck with or without Abraham. Abe refused to play OLB and he can't stay on the field. Last year he got his numbers playing in meaningless games in a contract year. glenn212
Please, if the report say 4 games it will be at least 6 games if he even makes it back at all this year..Abe obviously has a ZERO tolerence for pain and discomfort and will refuse to play until HE feels he is ready..which unfortunatly for the Falcons will be next AUGUST..hahaha
