glenn212
You know how Coach Mangini is always talking about Jet Core Values..Good Character-hard working-selfless-intelligence - football is important and are you the same player everyday..That was what he and Mike T based their draft on beside obvious talent..Do you see the corelation n the fact we are getting huge contribution from these many rookies..These guys are focused on helping the Jets and working hard to contribute and not thinking about their new found millions..which can't be easy for any 22 year old..If this is the kind of quality draft we get every year, keep drafting those Boy Scouts.. Not to sound corney, but I'm proud to be a Jet fan, we aren't reading about our guys with multiple arrests, cheating, spousal abuse. In the end when the S**T hits the fan character guys will win out..Go Jets Discuss

I'll tell you what, for the first time in a long time, it's fun to be a Jets fan again. The past five years were so polarizing, because certain "fans" put themselves front and center with their stupid personal agendas. But things have a way of working themselves out. SoFlaJets
all I know is I like the direction this team is going.I love how we see the team draft a guy and then actually get to see what we drafted because we have a coach that ain't afraid to play them. Edwards and Bradway would pick players and then never play them in fear (it seemed like anyway) of being proved wrong ABOUT said players. How many roster spots were wasted on the likes of the Sione Pohaus of the Jets world the last 5 years before this?

I'm happy for Bryan Thomas and Jerricho Cotchery, two pleasant surprises for us. If Herm was still here, neither one of these guys would be playing. glenn212
Not just the rookies..Don't think he's not winning over the vet's in quick fashion..All football players respect a coach who prepares them for all possibilities in any game, also they respect a coach they know who is bustin his stones every week to win..You can't fool the players, they know if the coach is working hard or on cruise...hell we know jow hard this guy works. SoFlaJets
anybody read that article today about Cotchery being a gadget guy?-When we hired Mangini I thought about his generation-the genXers all who were thought to be slackers and baristas at Starbucks at best. But I thought how cool the Generation X was-how they were advancing technology and doing some smart things-file sharing for instance-Napster,video game tech.I saw EM and Mike T as part of that bunch-younger than me by a generation and thought if they can bring some of the 21st century to the game they could actually soon be frontrunners. Then today's article EM talking about USING this technology to educate his players and thought-see?...it's beginning
glenn212
Thats another thing with Eric and Mike..always "thinking outside the box". There's something to be said about smart hard working guys running the show..you see the difference...Like Cothery, watching a movie gets bored and spends 20 minutes watching the guy who guards him on Sunday..it's gotta help!! The sad thing is though, as soon as this team loses a few games in a row or if they were to miss the playoffs for Manginis first few seasons, there would be no shortage of fans complaining that we didn't bring in Randy Moss to work with Chad. Why didn't we make a run at TO? It does bother me when fans go with the whole "the NFL ain't makin' choir boys". I realize that, but as a fan, I'd rather not see my team go out there and compete with a guy on the field who should really be in jail. There are good players in the league who are also good people. They are few and far between, but if a FO is willing to do their homework then they'll find those players. JMO.
