Im getting ready to hit the road to go back home to Seattle. Im driving through the following states and need some suggestions on places to stop. I plan on seeing Mt. Rushmore in SD.

These are the states Im driving through,

PA, Ohio, Indianna, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montanna, Idaho and Washington.

I only want to stop at places close to the freeway.

There is a good Waffle House in Ohio. You can eat Chicken with Waffles. I am sure that you would enjoy it. If you pass by Kansas City, make sure you stop by Herm's new diggs and i hope you lay a hot steamy pile right on his doorstep.

Seattle huh? could you get any further west in the continental US?

wow now thats a drive.. I drove from new york to utah once & don't think i'd do it again unless it was a summer thing in an rv.

be careful thru nebraska, especially lincoln. speed traps are a huge revenue source for them folks. the road is straight.forever

I drove out to utah from ny for college. my mom, sister & brother went.

funny story. I was driving, mom & sis fell asleep in back and I floored it for a while. mom woke up when I was doing about 115 & freaked out. made me pull over & she drove. 20 minutes later she got pulled over for speeding & we had to exit at lincoln nebraska so cop could watch her pay the fine into a mailbox

Swing down through Texas and grab a Whataburger.

Had one for lunch today while on jury duty.

Might as well put Nebraska on that list.

You are in for one suckhole ride. Ohio? Indiana? Dude, don't stop. Just keep going. Watch out for Smokey.

If you're on I-90, which I think you will be, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is a nice place to stop. Resort type town, only been there in summer.

Nearby Spokane WA is pretty forgetable, no need to linger there.

Stopped ther with Seapatsy on the way East. Very nice place. Funny little story, we stopped for a picknic lunch by the lake, and I was enjoying my chicken leg while sitting on the dock when SPC snuck behind me and pushed me into the lake. The water was FREEZING!!!

Dude, I have no choice. Its either those states or go through Chicago and up to 94 through Wisconsin, North Dakota etc.

Its a long borig drive no matter what route I take. My goal is to get back home as fast as possible.
