Fun fact that may interest no one but me:

Garb

Recommended Posts

Troy Brown is one reception away from tying Stanley Morgan's All-time Patriots reception record and two from being numero uno, baby! Here's hoping he gets one reception on Sunday nite and several the following Sunday when I'll be there in my #80 jersey. BINGO!

you were half right garb. you got the "only interest me" part right but missed on the fun fact.

on a fri afternoon, a fun fact would be more along the lines of pamela anderson's breast size

Bull! This thread has already garnered 10 posts (so what if three of them are mine!) - which is usually better than your weak threads! ;)

Anyway, it's Jetnation: Do you Post? Not, Jetnation: Post only what Jetcane thinks is relevant.

I didnt play the relevance card- faba did. :D

But it is true- patsys posts are boring to me. If I never saw another pasties post here, it wouldnt bother me in the least.

The amazing thing about Stanley Morgan's record is that he has about 4500 more yards than Troy. He averged over 19 yards per catch!

The fact that Troy may average 5 yards per catch is not important here! :)

I am celebrating my favorite player's impending milestone.

Way to pee on Troy's parade, Gainzo!:P

No BINGO for you!

The mid '80's in the AFCE: Toon, Morgan, Clayton. WR's running wild. 52-48 scores. Good times.

The old AFL days

Namath, Hadl, Lamonica- guys that actually threw the ball down the field-no wonder that I got hooked on the AFL.

Toon was not a deep threat, he was more of a possession receiver.

Now Wesley Walker, he was a deep threat

Toon had his share of 40 plus yard receptions if I'm not mistaken.

Disclaimer: My family moved to the States in April of '86 so in my first few years following the Pats, and the NFL, I was still learing the rules, etc.

I did work out pretty quickly that Dan Marino was an arse and that Tony Eason was a wuss!

He had some plays where he could get some YAC, but his forte was using his body and out working a DB to the ball.

he averaged 12.8 YPR in his career and his highest season was 14.4.

these pale against some of the other guys you mentioned.

You mean next week?

When they are up on the NYJ sked, I expect as many posts about the upcoming game as with any other week. The rest of the time, its a waste of bandwidth.

Toon only became a "possession" receiver later on in his carreer due to the fact he was constantly "concussed" thanks in large part to Kenny O'Brien's high passes in the middle of the field. Thanks Kenny, thanks alot.

I'm sure the 1/8 of an inch of astroturf covering the concrete at the Meadowlands didn't help his cause either.

Same can be said for Foxboro, Orchard Park and Indy back in those days.
