Barton
Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Liriano, the list goes on. This is why nobody should be saying Hughes should have been called up last year and be relied upon as a starter. You have to be careful with these guys when they're young, hopefully tampabay doesnt make a mistake with Kazmir.
The Gun Of Bavaria
Being a Tigers fan it would be easy to sit here and be happy about it but I'm not that kind of guy. Absolute tragedy for the poor kid who had some absolute sick stuff. That said I hope someone in the Twinkies organization is looking in the mirror and contemplating suicide as they decide if bringing him back for one freaking game was worth losing an absoute stud for an entire year. I'm trying to figure out if someone from the Cubs or marlins, both of which are know for absoluely running their young arms into the ground, infiltrated the Twins and affected the management of Liriano. Absolute dick up on theior part.

Tough to see a kid with suck good stuff blow out his arm so young. Shame....would have been nice to see him and Santana for a full season. With Baker and Garza, they had the makings of a nice young staff.

Mavrik
You have more class than me. I was absolutely delighted about the Rick Ankiel thing. haha. that's some funny s***. Needless to say, the outlook for Liriano's career just took a hit with having Tommy John surgery so early. Not to say that he's going to tank as soon as he gets back in 2008, but if he's having arm problems this early in his career, he's going to be more prone to future injuries. Tis a shame. A rotation of Santana and Liriano would have made the Twins a favorite to win teh AL Central again. Twins will have to go shopping for a SP now. mbn007
you can't add Liriano to that list just yet, he's got plenty of time to prove This is the 2nd time he has had arm issues, this one quite serious, obviously. He is done for a full season. Not a good sign for a 22 year old. He is in the Wood, Prior et al, injury class, until he stays healthy.
Kidhuman
As if this wasnt known back when he first injured it. If they sent him for the surgery then, he would have been back for the stretch. Better for us since they wont compete.
