You can record audio from a cassette deck onto your computer and burn it onto CDs. You need a "line in" input on your computer and a cable that runs from the RCA outputs on the casssette deck to a quarter-inch stereo mini-plug.

There are several free software programs that should do the job. Audacity is supposed to be a good one.

As for VHS to DVD, you can buy a machine thaty does that at Circuit City.

You're welccome, bro. You can record your old vinyl albums, too, but you've got to run the turntable through a pre-amp, first.

Some guys have tried plugging the turntable into the mic input without a pre-amp. You could give that a try.
