Preston Howley III
Hey, I was wondering if UPS gave you back my Jethro Tull tape? Also to you and anybody else, is where can I get a piece of equipment to convert audio casssette to CD and VCR tape to DVD. Thanks.
Bob
You can record audio from a cassette deck onto your computer and burn it onto CDs. You need a "line in" input on your computer and a cable that runs from the RCA outputs on the casssette deck to a quarter-inch stereo mini-plug. There are several free software programs that should do the job. Audacity is supposed to be a good one. As for VHS to DVD, you can buy a machine thaty does that at Circuit City. Bob
You're welccome, bro. You can record your old vinyl albums, too, but you've got to run the turntable through a pre-amp, first. Some guys have tried plugging the turntable into the mic input without a pre-amp. You could give that a try.

Bob
Yeah, but it's pretty hard to listen to it in the car.

Scott Dierking
I'm still trying to figure out what was the point of 8 tracks To break up songs in the middle with an awkward silence and a click.
Bob
I'm still trying to figure out what was the point of 8 tracks I can understand why they developed them for cars. They pre-dated cassettes. I'll never understand why they put them in home stereos.
