GimmeShelter
Per Rotoworld. Outfielders Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday were awarded Silver Sluggers by NL managers and coaches on Friday. Also winning were C Brian McCann, 1B Ryan Howard, 2B Chase Utley, 3B Miguel Cabrera, SS Jose Reyes and P Carlos Zambrano. There isn't a lot to argue about here. The NL's three best hitters were all first basemen, but it was obvious Howard would win over Albert Pujols and Lance Berkman. Reyes over Bill Hall is our biggest disagreement, and there's a case to be made Jason Bay over Matt Holliday. Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter won AL Silver Slugger awards in balloting by managers and coaches. C Joe Mauer, 1B Justin Morneau, 3B Joe Crede, OF Manny Ramirez, OF Vladimir Guerrero, OF Jermaine Dye and DH David Ortiz were the other winners. Crede over Alex Rodriguez is absurd, of course, but we can't expect anything better from the same people who have made Jeter a three-time Gold Glove winner. There's also arguments to be made for Carlos Guillen over Jeter, Jason Giambi over Morneau and Travis Hafner over Ortiz.

Blackout
I'dve chosen both Glaus and A-rod over Crede and personally I'd take Pujols over Howard
uart
no way you take Pujols over Howard. Howard was easily the better offensive player this year. Sorry boss, but it shouldn't be a popularity contest (even though it often is).

Sorry boss, but it shouldn't be a popularity contest (even though it often is). Pujols's OPS+ was higher just beacuse he missed 3 weeks doesn't mean he should be penalized, he would've had atleast 55 home runs if he wasn't injured
GimmeShelter
Not for nothing, but what the hell is a "silver slugger?" Managers and coaches vote for best hitter at each position. The award is called "'Silver Slugger".
