war ensemble
i write this before the south carolina kicker attempts a long 48 yard field goal. But is there any evidence this actually has any impact? It's hard to compare. Almost every kicker gets "frozen" at the end of the game, but when he isn't and he makes/misses it, it can be put towards his talent. If it's a good kicker he'll make it anyways. The Troll
Freezing the kicker is a waste of a timeout. Dumbest thing in all of football.
Sperm Edwards
Freezing the kicker is a waste of a timeout. Dumbest thing in all of football. Most kickers agree. At least they claim to love it - say it gives them more time to set up & analyze the kick; particularly on a funky angle. They've been preparing for the kick on the sideline for the past few minutes at least so all it does is give them the opportunity to get fully set, relax, take a moment to breathe, and clear their heads. faba
Any edge you can get to put doubt and make someone think more about what they have to do is a wise move IMO even if the kicker is successful.
