The year of vindication

I recall not too long ago, maybe during the summer, that somebody on this board called this season "The year of vindication". How prophetic-

Can you imagine if Woody had forced Herm to honor his contract? Can you imagine if Bradway was still running the front office? Can you imagine if John Abraham was given a similar contract that Atlanta had given him? Can you imagine if the Jets traded the Mangold and D'Brick picks to move up a spot and get Reggie Bush (and if Bradway was the GM, he would have just like he did for Santana and Robertson)?

Everything that could have went right, finally went right. At 5-4, the only thing the peanut gallery has to complain about is Anthony Schlegel.

I think I say this every week. I like you mate.

But the Jets are one game away from being 5-5. It's not like you are playing the Lions this weekend. You are playing the Bears!

We're one game from being 6-3 and tied for first place. ;)

But even at a hypothetical 5-5, that's one more win from last year. WE'VE COME A LONG WAY SINCE LAST YEAR. That was the point of the post.

Where we would be right now if Bradway and Herm were still running things? I know this much, the Pats are 7-2 right now.

We wouldn't have beaten the Titans on the road, nor would we have beat the Pats. We would be looking at 3-6 with Herm right now.

Herm definitely would have went for the "splash" pick, like Reggie Bush. Him and Dumbway would have matched Atlanta's contract offer for Abe, too. They would have been too scared, not too.

Not only would we be 3-6 right now, but our future would be shot even worse than the mess Mangini and Tanenbaum inherited (and have cleaned up nicely, thus far).

If Herm was still coach Barlow and Washington* would be on IR. Not to mention Chad.

*Not that he would be a Jet if Herm and Bradway were still calling the shots
