Genius... What Genius?

Up 21-3 and basically beating the Colts down in the first half, and the Colts only scored a FG to end the half. Pats controlled this game in the first half. But the Colts came out in the second half and whipped them off the field. Yeah they scored some points, but the fact was, Manning and that offense controlled the entire second half, the defense made a few stops here and there and Dungy outcoached BB in the end.

BB "the Genius" sure did not look like a genius to end this game.

Getting outscored 35-13 to end a game is not Genius in my book.

And Tom Brady, clutch isn't throwing 5 Interceptions in your last 4 playoff games. Against Denver, against San Diego and now against the Colts.

Outcoached?

PPPPPuuuhhhllleeeaaaassseeeee!!!!

The game broke right for them. After they stopped the Patriots from making it 24-3 or worse, they ran like 30+ plays to 1. They make a stop and the next time the Patriots get the ball with a chance to drive it is 21-13.

Gotta give props to them for continuing to play.

BB was outcoached. Plain and simple...

His team was beating down the Colts and the Colts and Manning were on the run and looked done. Kind of like they've always looked in the playoffs.

But in the second half, the Colts adjusted, made some plays, while for the most most, Brady and the Pats offense didn't do all that much.

Why not run the ball more? Weren't they on pace for like 200 yards?

People condemn Marty for not running last week, well the fact was Brady was throwing on 1st and 10 with the lead 34-31 late in the 4th quarter.

They didn't run all that much, the defense was on the field for much of the second half, and in the end, BB and Brady were beat.

End of story.

Accept the fact that your beloved Pats are just like every other team now.. Playoff losers.

The Colts were the better team, and they had the better QB.

There was actually a huge difference.

Belichick did not have a back with over 100 yards and another averaging like 10 yards a carry. He had a running game that short of one 35 yard run, had managed 23 carries and 58 yards. That is not even 2.5 YPC. Maybe you did not see Maroney having to jump over penetrating defenders.

Outplayed? Yes. Out coached? No.

Lets be serious here for a second. I've watched the Pats all year...quite frankly, with what they had, they over-achieved...and it WAS the genius that did that. You all want to turn a blind eye to it....go for it. It's hard to make leamoande out of Alexander at inside LB and Baker (whoe the heck is that?) and strong safety.

Anyway, Colts the better team today. Period.

Go Bears! :)

Weren't the Colts the same team that allowed 150 rushing yards per game? Weren't everybody saying the Colts wouldn't win this year..

The Pats were "back on track"

The Colts were the better team in the second half. The Pats were the better team in teh first half.

Peyton Manning had the better game today, plain and simple.

There were some good and bad coaching decisions in this game by both sides. In and of itself this is a little unusual when you talk about Bill Belichick in a playoff game. I think the non usage of timeouts by BB at the end of the game was bizarre once the Colts got to the ten yard line with what, 1:50 to go?

Either the Colts are going to score three, score seven or they turn it over. With two of the three the extra 45 seconds+ is just crucial to your team. In the third case, well let's just say I would take the problem of having the ball and needing to burn an extra 45-60 seconds.

Bad coaching there.

I think the lack of Deion Branch was the difference in the game today.

I do think the ball squirting straight up in the air and being re-caught by the Colts receiver was the final clue that Sunday would not belong to the Patriots.
