Steals and Reaches

Plenty of teams reached for draft picks, and just as many had some great steals fall into their laps. Here's my opinion on which picks came off the board too early and which lasted longer than most thought they would. And it's important to note that I rate steals and reaches based on my overall rankings, not where I projected players to go in my mock draft:

Too high or too low?

Miller at 57 for Jets to me is a no-brainer and Matt Jones as a reach -disagrees with Ham!

As the co-owner and content editor of a highly influential website, I feel comfortable referring Mel Kiper as my "colleague." And I must say, that as my colleague, Mel (I can call him Mel. You may not) is absolutely dead on with all of his calls. While Pouha and Rhodes were probably slight reaches, there is no question that Logan Mankins and Ellis Hobbs and Matt Cassell were huge, huge reaches. Good job, Mel. I'll call you later.

1 thing:

Roscoe Parrish was a reach, not a steal.

Ditto.

Donahoe... I'm glad he's the Bills GM. They keep going backwards. It's bloody brilliant. They draft a broken RB (granted, he boomed), a QB who has a bigger ego than TomShane, and mini Moss (who was a small guy to begin with). Parrish won't be anything more than a return man, and you don't draft them with your first pick.

And if any of you lazy scumbags actually read my Draft Report Card on the front page, you'd see that I was in line with Mel all the way. That's my colleague, Mel Kiper.

TS, awesome Job on the draft report card ... I actually read the whole thing last nite ... EVERY TEAM ... and I thought you did an outstanding job

I was VERY IMPRESSED ... it was like a good book, I couldn't put it down till I read every last word
