wow

haven't heard that in a loooooong time

bought the album in MONO way back then

Can you imagine ? MONO !

Yes, sadly I can.  lol

Loved Cream back in the day (still do).  Was in college before I learned where this tune came from.  Amazing how Cream spun this Blind Joe Reynolds classic.  Love the sound of his slide and raspy vocal.

Saw these guys in a little club in Omaha - holeee f*ck we're they good!

The Struts are really good. One of the best bands from England in the last 5 years. Shades of Queen/Mercury and many others in their work.  front man Luke Spiller has a Mick Jagger like stage persona. Their concerts are a blast.

Quote

Man, the singer looks like Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Tim Curry, and Mick Jagger were fused into one person.

That is the best version of Shine on You Crazy Diamond I've ever heard.  Gilmour is a musical god and his vocals were wonderful and when Crosby & Nash pop up at 5:25 on that vid I absolutely had to share it.  Never saw this one before.

now that made me do this

thought it was Jimmy's best solo, wore out the track on the album :)

Totally LOVE Page's solo on that cut.  III, IMO, is Zep's very underrated record.  Maybe because of all the folk/blues elements being so up front.

Anyway, your post brought me to this one below.  Page's solo starts at about 3:30.  They are all so youthful and their playing/singing is breathtaking.

Once I lived the life of a millionaire
Spending my money and I did not care
Carrying my friends out for the good time
Buying bootleg liquor, champagne and wine

Lord, but I got busted and I fell so low
Didn't have no money and nowhere to go
This is the truth, Lord without a doubt
Nobody wants you when you're down
I mean, nobody wants you when you're down

Lord, the other day I asked the man for my rent
He told me, boy, the money he had spent
But I tried my best to try one or two
That's everything that I could do

Lord, nobody let me have one lousy dime
I'm out there worrying now all the time
But I'm gonna tell you this is true, Lord without a doubt
Nobody wants you when you're down
Nobody wants you when you're down

Lord, if I could get my hands on a dollar again
I would hold it 'til that eagle grins
I would try him just for one little house
Nobody knows me when I'm down and out

Lord, I'll try for another day
To make my troubles in my own way
But I'm gonna tell you the truth, Lord without a doubt
Nobody knows me when you're down
I mean nobody knows me when you're down
