Jaco, IMO, was the greatest Bass Player on electric bass.  he did things before anyone else...including Stanley Clark. Beato analyzes this piece incredibly. Donna Lee....  I bought this album in 1979 or so and was blown away.

Only guy who could have replaced Joe Walsh in The James Gang and Blackmore in Deep Purple.  Dead at 25.  Dumb and sad.

He did GETTIN TIGHTER with Deep Purple as an answer to Richie Blackmore fans who weren't happy with him replacing Blackmore. That was a lot of pressure for a very young guy. Tommy has an interesting background, American Indian, cool bio.

What great, clean sound coming off the board.   Band is in very good form, especially Jimmy's fills.   Saw them on this tour.
