the weird thing is I never heard the whole album before, except for a few songs, Sloop John B, God Only Knows, and Wouldn't It Be Nice which as a musician (and when I consider it now) is pretty much unthinkable that I hadn't given it a listen. The thing was I always viewed The Beach Boys as a silly band with those red and white striped shirts and all that Cali stuff was like, I don't know French as far as this Jersey guy was concerned. But you're right I was watching that History Of Rock n Roll again on VH1C yesterday and Brian Wilson was saying that it was Paul's favorite album.

Yeah I think they sometimes catch a bad rap. Brian Wilson doesn't even know how to surf haha. He's a genius though. He got a little insane though of course, but there's a fine line between genius and insanity. They also had an album called "Smile" that was supposed to come out, right after pet sounds i think, and never did but then he released it on his own in 2005 or so. It was good. I used to go to bed to Pet Sounds.

yea there was a documentary about the making and presentation of Smile on DTV a couple of years ago-I didn't find it too catchy shall we say...

Haha yeah it's strange stuff but it's enjoyable at some times.

two things bother me about today's music.

1.) bands only have one singer (unlike the pixies, beatles, velvet underground, countless others)

2.) bands don't use melodies for flow. So many beatles' songs are made because of the other three chiming...

pisses me off that bands can't look at past success and try to be decent. Instead we have to listen to that stupid Dalila song every freakin day.

Do yourself a favor and listen to the Redwalls.

1) Three singers. They all right the songs.

2) Best harmonies I've heard out of any band of present times, and I search.

They do the ooh's and aah's the beatles did and they catch bad rap for it. Every time they are on tv or being talked about in a review everyone just labels them as "the band highly influenced by the beatles" or something along that nature since most people really don't know **** about music so they just say that (which isnt really a horrible thing but at the same time you get black balled). When in reality they are influenced by tons of stuff and you hear it all in their music.

Here's them messing backstage with one after 909.

I kind of get the feeling that would be difficult, but thinking back to all the beatle songs, "love me do", "hold my hand" they would really have been on the same plain as some of the crappy music of late. The harmonies make the song.

I refuse to believe there is no talent out there, why can't people put this together? Drives me nuts.

Redwalls? Do they have released albums? i usually go to this used CD shop that tends to have most things i'm looking for. I love finding talented bands.

STOP FOLLOWING ME!

Yes. 'Universal Blues' would sound most "beatles like" (its their first album and prior to it they were kind of like a 60s cover band of the stones, beatles, dylan, kinks, ect). Second album is 'De Nova'. They had an EP called 'Wall to Wall Sessions' after that and they just released "The Redwalls" in october.
