NJ
Just give Chad a dominant left-tackle in his prime And give Chad a dominant center in his prime And give Chad above-average guards and RT, all in their primes And give Chad a dominant HB in his primewho routinely takes over games And give Chad a mauler FB in his primewith great hands And give Chad two pro-bowl caliber WR's and a top-10 TE, all in their primes And give Chad a top defense so he doesn't have to be in pass-only mode as often And give Chad joke schedule like '04 or '06 ...then he'll show the haters what a great QB he is. JoeWillie
Sorry, but you are clueless. Yeah, I'm sure we arent having an open QB competition again in camp, just like last year right, ecurb? Of course Chad was going to be the starter heading into camp, he was the starter the entire year last year and kellen didnt even play! Mangini is just stating the obvious and nothing more, despite what you want to believe ecurb. Wrong. Chad Pennington will be the starter heading into camp and he will be the starter heading into Game 1. Of all the QB's on the roster, he still gives the Jets the best chance at winning. Now, that said, if they start out 1-5, maybe we see Kellen sometime midway through the season.

Quite exaggerated...but you have a point, doesn't change that fact that no one knows how got KC is.
MTJ06
Sure we had Curtis Martin but he never was a "big" game or "big" play RB for us... he just ran the ball A LOT... Curtis Martin 2004 and 2002 (about 1/4 of all games) 7 - Games with less than 50 yards (a "bad" game for a RB) Averaged 4.4YPC 19 TD's Its not like Chad had the best RB ever in the two best seasons... Did you actually look at CM stats from 2002 and 2004? First off 4.4 ypc and 19tds are great numbers for those years. You quote that Curtis had 7 sub 50 yard games, but did you look at how many carries he had in those games? 2002 9/8 @ Buff 4 carries 6 yards 9/15 NE 4 carries 5 yards 9/22 @ Mia 16 carries 43 yards 9/29 @ Jacksonville 8 carries for 44yards 11/03 @ San Diego 13 carries 37 yards 12/02 @ Oakland 11 carries 26 yards This was the season that Curtis got hurt in the Buffalo Game (high ankle sprain I believe) and still didnt miss a game all year and after starting the season with 98 yards through the first 4 games still rushed for 1,094 yds and 7 tds. And Chad didnt even start the first four games of the year that Curtis rushed for under 50 Vinny T did. 2004 Curtis rushed for 1697 yards and 12 tds and added in another 2 td receptions and you pick out the one game where he didnt rush for over 50 and say Chad didnt have support from the running game? 12/26 NE 13 carries 33 yards I understand that you like Chad and want to defend him but bashing Curtis in the process with bad stats doesnt make any sense.
