On the front page now. This could be interesting. He was been out a long time. But this is a great kid who is hungry to play football. Before his injuries he was a CAN'T MISS prospect. Kudos to the Jets for pursuing this. This defines low risk, high reward.

Wow. This would be a very interesting signing if he does chose to come along and join the Jets. At 6'4ish, 280ish, he is sure to be projected in Mangini's eyes (or at least I would think he would be) as a 3-4 OLB. Should be interesting, I hope he decides to sign on to see what he's got. He's a young 32, that's for sure.

Thats how we're gonna beat the Pats. With players off the garbage heap.

Yes, a contact at the minimum is their game plan for next season. Cmon Mike. I released this story because I was told it was going to be news very soon. That is why we didn't sit on it.

From the non-football side it is a great story. Great kid. As a football story he would get a contract and have a chance to compete in camp. Not a huge risk either way. It is a really solid move in my opinion. They don't have much to lose at all here.

I understand that it's a feel good story. It's just not going to help us jump over the Pats in the division and thats really what i'm worried about right now.

I am becoming convinced the longer this drought on FA signings goes on,that the Jets have other plans on how they hope to improve this team. I like how these guys think outside the convential "wisdom" box.I forsee second teir FA's to be here (Banta-Cain types) and for us to actually pull the trigger on the Vilma deal if we can move up on the board AND get a starter to replace him.

Let's see how it all plays out before we criticize too much...I truly believe we're going to be happy with the results-I also think Coles could be traded-gut feeling

Banta-Cain is Useless-tier.

I expected that the Jets would use some of their large ammount of cap room to bring a difference maker to this team but i see that i'm going to be disappointed.

They're (The Jets) priorities are to take care of their own first, and they did that(Cotcherry)

I'm going to wait and see before I make any judgement calls.

one difference maker on this team, wouldn't make a difference.

UT posted up about this over at JI and I posted the story but put 3 asterisks and a wink emoticon where Max's name was LOL-I hope it's OK Max

Actually it isn't. I spent a lot of time on this story and to have the source just totally discredited is not right. I will address it directly though instead of discussing it here.

This regime is trying all options and sources to try to put a winning team on the field.

A low risk option if Andre does sign- like in basball now all teams bring in nonroster guys to try to get lucky.

And it was definitely not right to post this at JI without giving any credit to Max and jetnation as the source.

Defense Stats

1999 ARI 11 26 21 5 3 2 1 0 1 23 0

Anything he can bring to the table will be great. Between this news and the David Bowens rumors, it looks like Mangini is going the value route to find guys for the 3-4. It makes sense; why overspend on a DE when a lot of money is already dedicated to Shaun Ellis AND we have plenty of draft picks to work with?

If we do "overspend" anywhere on the field, it would be at the nose tackle. Unfortunately, there isn't much available on the FA market there.

hes out of football 6 years and apparently tore his achilles in rehab?

color me very skeptical about Andre Wadsworth's ability to play and last more than a few weeks in the NFL in the year 2007.

I see you found the banner Bit
