SickJetFan
Those most active in FA so far, where are they? Are they the up and coming teams? teams at the top want to stay at top? bottom of the barrel? seems to me there are a lot of other teams signing their own players or waiting. Those teams that are most active are admitting weakness and overpaying for players based on passed performance.

Maxman
So far you would have to say that the Patriots are one of the more active teams. They landed the biggest LB out there and a good blocking TE. The thing is the TE Brady replaces one Graham who was better. So they downgraded there. And they added a LB. But you know what? Their defense was pretty damn good last year anyhow. Until they add a receiver I am not that concerned. By all accounts the 49ers will be the most active because of the amount of money they have to spend. Also Morris is a downgrade from Dillon. IMO.

I suppose looking at them a lot could say there is weakness here or there. Guess they dont seem to think so. Course Jerry J dickhead over there will prob overpay for another FA now that I mention this
Maxman
Excellent point Max. Also Morris is a downgrade from Dillon. IMO. That is true. As much as I blasted Dillon he got the job done (no I don't want him here). I thought he was a bad attitude guy. But he seemed to mature a lot. Some of the crap from his Cincy days really seems like a distant memory with him. He played well in New England. (I can say that now that he is gone. In 14 years I will admit that Tom Brady was a decent QB).

Unfortunately, you could say the Pat did upgrade at TE. Watson is their best TE so Graham was expendable. Kyle Brady is a very solid blocker, he's like having an extra Olineman out there, so you can argue the Pats upgraded their Oline indirectly. As for their WR situation, Im still a little worried. With NO wideouts they almost made the Super Bowl, and with two first rounders, you have to imagine they will bolster their WR corps. The draft is deep in WR talent so you have to assume they will grab someone who can contribute immediately. I know he's just one guy, but Thomas to the Pats hurts us. Pats LB corp is old and slow so they got a big shot in the arm.

Graham was, and is, better than Kyle Brady but the Pats have a guy called Dave Thomas (not the Wendys guy) who can take over for Graham in the passing game. Kyle Brady was signed for his blocking ability. Knowing the Pats he may have 30+ catches next year.

By adding Brady, they upgrade their Oline blocking without really hurting themselves at TE. They have Watson, so Graham was expendable. It'd be nice if they lost Watson to a season ender....
