ECURB
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2788146 The NFL free agency period has seen its usual frenzy of signings in its first few days. One big-name player who hasn't been signed yet, however, is Donte' Stallworth -- and there could be a reason for that. Citing unnamed sources, The Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday that Stallworth is a participant in the NFL's substance-abuse program and he could be subject to a suspension if he violates terms of the the program again. The Eagles had no comment when asked about Stallworth's situation by The Daily News. However, the newspaper reported that a breach of confidentiality is subject to a league fine, citing information from the NFL Players Association Web site. Players can enter the substance-abuse program voluntarily or be entered into the program as a result of failed drug tests or substance-abuse related arrests. Stallworth has made no free agent visits yet, The Daily News reported. Agent Drew Rosenhaus didn't return a phone call to the newspaper. The Eagles acquired Stallworth from the Saints before last season and the 26-year-old receiver had 38 catches for 725 yards and five touchdowns in 2006 for Philadelphia. Sperm Edwards
I am amazed at the stupidity of some. Let's see...if I stay clean I'll make $40-50million. But this weed is so friggin' kind man...ah, it's worth it.
Scott Dierking
They name "unnamed sources", but I will tell you it was the Philadelphia Eagles front office. The Eagles are known to be an "on the cheap" organization, and what they are famous for are smear campaigns of FA's that they will not re-sign, and the want to deflect public outcry. I am not sayinh that Stallowth is NOt in teh program, just that it is low of teh Eagles to release such infor, if they are the source, as this is meant to be in the strictest confidence. They did a similar campaign with Garcia, just not substance related

Scott Dierking
what was the garcia smear... & don't say ky gel In a nutshell, that Garcia did "good" not "great, missed "open receivers" (what qb doesn't) many times, and moreso they painted Garcia as a hypocrite, saying locally he wanted to remain an Eagle, while going on teh Jay Leno show and saying that he would take full advantage of Free Agency. They took that as a slap.
