Although there is nothing official, Adam Schein of NFL radio just said he expects Columbo to sign with the Jets. However, seeing how Mangini & Tannenbaum brought the Thomas Jones trade out of no where, who knows what to believe anymore. Colombo would be a great signing to fill our void at RT. At only 28 years old, he would be a tremendous pick up.

Brandon Moore is a solid RG, I do not know what people on this board have against him. With the addition of Columbo that I hope comes soon we will have filled our one and only void for a needed starter on the 2007 Offensive Line in which case... let us tearn our attention towards the Defense. We need help on all 3 layers there.

Columbo would be a solid pickup, period. 6'8", 320, only 5 years out. Has had some knee isues with the Bears, but played a full and solid season in 2006. Put him at RT, and we have some serious beef upfront.

I really was going to say that but I thought people wanted him with the 37th overall pick. Now we don't have that.

I'm perfectly happy with him at #25. Look at how much cash it takes to get a top OG in free agency. I'd rather take an elite prospect at one position (further, at a position of need where FA's are mega-expensive) than a not-quite-top-tier player at another one.

I like that phylosophy. It will largely depend on how the board falls. I could even see the Jets dropping down a little and still getting Blalock.

it depends on how much the FO likes blalock. i would not be surprised to see the jets move down out of rd 1 and try to add an '08 1st rd pick. especially if they can move to the middle of the 2nd and still grab blalock.

i would just say take the guy in the first. whats the sense in waiting, he'll be the best gaurd on the board at that time. It worked out well with Mangold(i.e. best center on the board). This line will be awsome in 08, i can't wait.

If they fell for D'Brick's smarts & attitude, they should be wet in the front with Blalock.

Your def right and I will pick him if I was the Jets but we are in need of a CB and a DE/OLD type player. We need to fill some holes.

We're meeting with Bowens for DE/OLB.

We definitely need a DE/DT 'tweener for end. Harrell & Pit**** are the only ones who would slip to #25 and wouldn't be a terrible reach. But there are others available. They are also a notch below prospects like Branch & Carriker. All the other guards are a notch below Blalock.

I want the top guy. Not the other guy.

Right now we hae 3 RB and 3 QB (i count B Smith afterall his resume prob better then most #2's)

Where as last year we carried 4 of each - I wonder if we use the rosters elsewhere now?

If they bring in columbo, that's a very good move. But I don't want them to draft another OL in the first round. This team needs to improve this defense.

Yeah maybe Bla will be good, but who knows. Mangold was great last season, but DBrick was nothing special. He had some decent games but he also had some poor ones. I think he will improve, but the fact that they spent two first round picks last year and that this Jets Defense stinks, it points to improving the defense. I'd be disappointed if they drafted mostly offensive players rather than improving their defense.
