Boozer76
NFL Network's Afternoon Blitz is absolutely skewering CHI for this trade. I can't remember the last time we were praised for being on the good end of a trade. Nice job Tannebaum.

I can't remember the last time we were praised for being on the good end of a trade. Nice job Tannebaum. So they should. The Jets got a starting RB and the Bears got what exactly? Not to mention the Rivera firing and Briggs situation. Has anyone ever seen a team coming off a Super Bowl appearance start to unravel so quickly? 4HCrew
they keep mentioning the character guy TJ is as well as a hard worker while questioning those traits in Benson. In addition TJ was a important leader in their locker room

Gainzo
Oakland in 2002-2003 Thats a good point but the Super Bowl was only 6 weeks ago.
GREEN FIEND
All of the shows are focusing on how Chicago made a bad deal instead of mentioning the nice job that Tangini is doing. I guess a back-handed compliment is still a compliment, right?

I hear ya... just sayin.... lol I think that both the Raiders in 02-03 and the Bears this year had problems at the end of the season... that translates into problems sooner than later after the season... I guess a back-handed compliment is still a compliment, right? I think the Jets would be getting a lot more credit if the Bears didn't have the Briggs/Rivera situations. Who cares anyway? The media always focuses on the negative. You guys upgraded in a major way at RB.

pjam76
nobody knows anything in the offseason. The Colts got rid of Marshall Faulk years ago. the Edge was a great RB. They got rid of Edge last year, and wound up winning a SB anyway. The Bears have seemed cheap, plain and simple. Not paying coaches, players, and so on. So it's more on them at this point than anything else. Benson hasn't proven anything in the nFL yet, except he has not much of a work ethic. But who knows. If the bears pick some guy with the 37th pick that helps them get back to the super bowl, then you really can't call them stupid. At this point, it seems like the Jets got the better of the deal. But saying one side is a genius and the other morons means nothing in March.
Scott Dierking
I can understand the trade from teh Chicago perspective-There was ZERO chance of them signing Jones after this season, so get something of value for him now. Of course, that reduces his trade value on the open market, but you get something. Somewhat like teh Lamont Jordan situation with the Jets a few years back, but in that deal the tradingteam would have been paying for potential, rather than performance. Of course, we know the Jets did not pull the trigger on that deal.
Maxman
NFL Network's Afternoon Blitz is absolutely skewering CHI for this trade. I can't remember the last time we were praised for being on the good end of a trade. Nice job Tannebaum. The last trade the Jets made that was this good was in the 2nd round last year. Stealing Washington's 2nd round pick this year and still getting the guy they wanted (Clemens).
CoachTsurfing
thanks Gainzo, you get some props from me. I'm real happy with the signing, I'd like to see us get a big road grading lineman to run behind.
D-MONEY87
The deal the jets made on draft day to get the draft pick to get Nick Mangold was one of their better trades
The Troll
The best trade I have seen the Jets make is a 4th rounder for Herman Edwards.
Jetlag
The best trade I have seen the Jets make is a 4th rounder for Herman Edwards. Leon Washington for Herm was definitely the best trade this franchise has ever pulled off.

That 2nd rounder obviously got us TJ so it's the gift from the Skins that keeps on giving.
