Guys like me and Tx have to keep his ego in check, or else he could float away. Someone's gotta do it, I don't mind putting the verbal beatdown on him, every now and then, to keep his Met lovin behind in line. Oh, and I'm glad we're allowed to be smarta$$es here. And make fun of Tom. Can't get that anywhere else. A JN exclusive! Oh, and Bob's porn 'stache. It brings in the ladies, what can I say? But, this is a fun place, and it does feel more like home. I've been a member of JI for, shoot... three years? Something like that... and it's not the same place anymore. It got away from what it was, and it's just not the same. Alot of boards, I've noticed, as popularity rises, the quality of posters decreases. Maybe not the quality of posts, but of the posters, it does go down, real fast. And all the familiar faces, they go away. They fade to either lurking status, try to stay where they are, try to earn the respect of being a longtime member with the new posters, or they end up getting banned. I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles. That's why this place is great. It's everyone you're familiar with... even Tx. That's just how we roll, is all. Yeah lets label JetNation because we have off topic posts during the offseason. Please. Right now we are the 3rd busiest Jets site as far as I can tell. (Out of the 7 or so that I know of). Who is # 1? thegangreen.com is by far the busiest Jets site. It isn't even close right now. And I say good for Petro. A stand up guy. He offered me some advice when we started this board. Solid advice on how to make this thing last. It meant a lot because he doesn't know me and has no reason to hope that we suceed. # 2 in terms of posts is JI. Then comes us. We are a lot closer to 2nd than JI is to first at this point. So I stand here before you pretty damn proud of JetNation. Pretty damn proud of what we have accomplished here. If the Jest won the whole darn thing - it wouldn't bother me THAT much because I would get to see you, JonE, Brenda, Shane, Max, GG, etc...celebrate - you all deserve it. However, it all gets ruined when I start thinking cynically.
