Randy McMichael-TE- Dolphins Mar. 7 - 8:40 am et

The Jets, Broncos, Seahawks, and Raiders have all shown interest in free agent TE Randy McMichael.

We can eliminate Denver from contention after they signed Daniel Graham. No visits are scheduled yet for McMichael. Jerramy Stevens and Eric Johnson are his competition on the open market.

This is strange. This guy can be an impact player but he doesn't seem like a Person this FO would like and he's a good receiver/bad blocker just like baker...

I was thinking more along the lines of the Bengals. ;) Didn't he punch his then-pregnant wife? What a scumbag.

yea he did in a Waffle House in Ga I think-I didn't mean Denver WOULD be the team to sign him just a team that spends like they do somehow every year-Washington normally would be a better example-NE is also another possibility this year the way THEY'RE going friggin nuts up there

hmmm.....where do they always get all the cap space EVERY FRICKIN YEAR is my question...

Quote:

Randy McMichael might not be a free agent for long. A day after the Dolphins cut the tight end, four teams -- the New York Jets, Oakland, "DENVER" and Seattle -- were showing interest.

McMichael has a bad case of fumbilitis and it has gotten worse with age and he's not a good blocker. Plus he's ugly as sin. Seems like a perfect match for the Jets.

You want to give back the 80 games he started and scored 108 points?

Make fun of him all you want but he was one of the few good things the Phins had going for them... now he is done too.... good luck with Lemon this year...

Fact of the matter is the entire time he played in Miami we have had no quarterback. The first thing mediocre QB'S is check down to the tight end. I truly believe this is one of the reasons he had so many catches while he was down here. He was the benificary of an offense with almost no deep passing game. I will admit he has in the past made some great plays, however he has not been a critical playmaker for the last two years. He drops crucial third down passes, lays off his blocking and rarely makes the tough catch in the middle. He also has the tendency to shoot off his mouth on the sideline. Not to mention his "lower than average" moral character. He is not worth 3 million to the Dolphins. Bye Randy.

Bash him all you want on his way out but he was a big reason why you guys didnt completely suck...

Dont forget SD and KC both use TE's as a big part of their game and they have good QBs.

Just to further add to your QB excuse as being a bad one...

KNow a guy by the name of Tom Brady... notice how much he uses his TE's?

Brady did'nt have much of a passing game this year. Or have you not noticed them all over the wide recievers in FA. Proving my fact that Brady had to check down to the TE because his recievers sucked A$$. Remember the AFC Championsip game. Reeche Caldwell with his bug eyes dropping passes all over the place.

SD and KC have 2 of the best TE's in the league and neither team has one standout reciever. They have to utelize the TE.

Who will your less than mediocre QB check down to this year?

This would be the first thing I liked, besides getting Cotch resigned, all offseason.

Always though McMichael would be a great Jet. He's been under-used the past couple of years and Kellen Clemens is going to need a big tight end as a safety valve, as most young QBs do. Would be a great signing, which is why I doubt we get him. We'll sign a less talented, slow, high character white guy that has never smacked up his wife a little. Boo.

The only way I'd like to see Randy brought in here is if they plan to use Baker strictly as a blocking TE because we need a blocking TE, not a recieving TE because they already have one in Baker and it's not his fault that he had to stay in and block a lot the past few seasons.

I like what your saying. Baker is really good when it comes to blocking and McMicheal in my opinion is a upgrade at the tight end position. I think we should give him a deal.

I think Baker could put up the same numbers as McMichael if given the chance and they both wouldn't work in a doubt TE set because neither of them are good blockers...

Baker is a good blocker, not great but above average. I'm not sure about McMichael though.

I'm probably the biggest Baker fan on this board and he's NOT a good blocker.

WTF have you been watching Baker w/o question is a very good blocker. I think it`s time to visit an optometrist or in your case a therapist;)
