124
Kellen Clemens. When Kellen Clemens takes the reigns we can then start talking championships. Until then, lets continue to enjoy our 9 or 10 win seasons with a few playoff games & wins sprinkled in. Yeah, drink that Chad kool-aid baby!!! angry jets fan
A QB that can make a sideline throw! Chad limits our offense to ten yards down the field and between the hash marks ... which, in turn, squeezes the running the game. Brady was killing us in the playoff game with all those sideline throws than chadwick CANNOT make.! Give Clemens a shot. Do you think we can really get to and win a superbowl with chadwick at QB? and who exactly should that "anybody" be? Give us a name...

Until then, lets continue to enjoy our 9 or 10 win seasons with a few playoff games & wins sprinkled in. Yeah, drink that Chad kool-aid baby!!! Kellen Clemens is a Jay Fiedler clone. Yeah, he can throw harder than Chad but so can 99% of the qb's in the NFL. You guys overrate his arm strength and make him out to be like he can throw endzone to endzone. I saw a couple of his games in college and his action last August and preseason and I was not impressed at all. He really does look like Jay Fiedler out there. This little guy who runs around throwing ducks and the most you can hope for is for him to manage the offense and hand the ball off. Not that I think Chad is the answer either. I think we're screwed at the QB position until the 2008 draft.
shawn306
The most popular guy on alot of football teams is the backup qb. Clemens will get his chance. Probably some time this season. Then we will find out.
#27TheDominator
I find it amusing that so many Jet fans have a problem with 9 and 10 win playoff seasons. You're Jet fans, don't you know it can get worse? Much worse.
jetfuel
Like it or not, he is our QB this year. The guy earned it and he is a perfect fit for the team. Did you forget that we had a dismal running game for two years running now? Personally there is not another QB I'd want this year. Maybe next year we give Clemens a shot but Chad is the man right now and he's going to have a hell of a year now that they got T Jones. They will address the RT spot. The question is what do we do about LT where we have a tight end in D'Brick. Unless that boy loads up on French Toast and Sausage he's gonna give up another 11 or 12 sacks this year and it won't matter if we had Joe Montana in his prime at that point. Much worse. Thank you! Considering I go back to the pre-mud bowl days with Richard Todd at QB and Pat Ryan his backup, I know exactly how bad it can get. Jets fans that have only been around since the mid to late 90's don't have any idea because they have been a competitive team ever since Parcells took the helm in '97. The last 5 or 6 years have been incredible compared to what they had before. Be patient ... this regime will win us a championship!

Interesting. He's almost as lightweight as a tight end. He's listed at 290 lbs and probably weighs 5-10 lbs less. Can he run a fade route? Clemens will get his shot this year at some point. Mangini and Tanenbaum want to see him succeed. Make no mistake about it, Kellen Clemens is their guy. If Clemens fails, the 2006 draft is a failure because they passed up on 2 franchise QB's and a bigger LT in Round 2 for an undersized lineman and Kellen Clemens. L.I.MikeBleedsGreen
You guys are jumping the gun a bit I think .Don't Forget that we could draft another Qb late in the draft ,You never Konw. Right now we only have 2 Qb's going into the season .I know we also have Brad smith but he is our last resort in this case.I say we talk Qb's after we see what happens in the draft. jetfuel
So this coming year, Ferguson is a bigger liability to the offense than Pennington? Unless he packs on some pounds and actually does his job, yeah. You have to give him a break being it was his rookie year but the guy got pushed around a bit too much for a LT. He has the ability to be a great OT in the NFL but he needs to put on some weight and not lose it all during the season like he did last year (the guy was down to about 285 by the end of the year). Clemens will probably be a very good QB in the league but I think they should develop him for one more year. If he gets some playing time that is great but it's not time for him to be the starter yet. To say Clemens is their guy right now is a mistake. Chad is their guy in the present. Clemens was definitely picked for a reason and he will be the starter but not until he is ready and Chad is done. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kellen start the '08 season.
