ECURB
The Wii is really a lot of fun, but gets old quick... I love the Bowling game on it though... with friends it can be addictive... and a lot cheaper than real bowling... lol The PS3 vs 360 will be interesting... everyone thought the Xbox would kill the PS2 and it didnt even come close... the PS2 still outsells the Xbox and the Xbox360 combined on a monthly basis. THe power of both the 360 and PS3 are close, with the PS3 having the edge with the "cell" having 7 "cores" and the 360 only having a dual (I think its 2 maybe 3). THe PS3 also has its next generation drive built in (Blu-ray) while the 360 has an add-on (HD-DVD) this means they will not make games on HD-DVD limiting their space. To claim they will never run out of space is silly, history shows files just keep getting bigger and they were already close to filling up the DVD with GOW. Many game companies have already said they plan on making PS3 versions that they cannot fit onto a DVD and will need to be scaled back for the 360. The PS3 also has the proper HD outputs (HDMI & Optical Audio) for next generation and can play games in FULL 1080P HD. The PS3 also has the PSP to work with, in some games they are working on you can use the PSP as a rear view mirror in racing games. Also the PS3 runs silent, the 360 sounds like a jet engine compared to it... I have had both systems... its like night and day SO when broken down... Power - PS3 Games - 360 Graphics - This is up to the games both are capable of the same graphics... Online - 360 (playstation will try to compete with "home", and is already close with games, Resistance can have 40 player matches with no LAG and Motorstorm has 12 player races with zero lag) Sound & Video Quality - PS3 (HDMI - Optical) Disc Drive / format - PS3 - Blu-ray Controller - PS3 "sixaxis" motion sensing controller - includes built in LiPo rechargeable battery... Hard Drive - PS3 (comes standard, game companies can automatically use it for games making them run better, on the 360 it must be an option becuase of the 360 that comes without a hard drive) The 360 is better right now becuase of games and online play, both of which can be changed/improved ect. The PS3 has some good games coming out, and some just came out this week... and they are making "home" which will have all of the features and ease of LIVE but also the ability to have a "sims" like world... it should be very popular, just as the sims was and is... The problem I see with the 360 is they have run out of room to improve, the discs are maxed out, the online is as good as it will get, the games are basically as good as they can get on the current discs... it will never be able to match the HDMI output of the PS3... maybe they will make a motion sensing controller... If you think I am full of crap, Im not and if you do a little looking around there are a lot of rumors that there will be a new Xbox soon to compete with the PS3... Bugg
Just got tht tyke a Wii for his 1st Communion. Pitfalls, headaches, etc.? Target and ToyRUs both have them in stock, but will only sell them retail, not on line. Saw parents lined up at TRU at 9Am, only to find the Targets in Valley Stream and ENY were out of stock. To find myself on exactly that line 1 hour later. To their credit, line moved quickly and efficiently.
Arsis
PS3 is horrible, it's way to much money. Wii is more fun and 360 has and will have better games. No reason to get a ps3 until it drops at least $200 off of its price.

If they come out with a new socom and its amazing, I would consider switching, if not, then I'll stay with my xbox permanently.

No reason to get a ps3 until it drops at least $200 off of its price. That's one of the problems. With the current prices, Sony is losing money per console. Right now it costs more to manufacture the ps3 then what they're actually selling it retail for. They can't really drop prices, unless they take an even bigger loss or find some cheaper hardware. Same thing they did with the PS2 and the same thing Microsoft did with the 360... you always lose money at first on a new console.

Yeah, I know, but actually it's not always. Nintendo makes money on every console they sell because they are only in the gaming market, nothing else. The ps3 is going to lose money at first, and that's why they can't afford a price cut. Microsoft's still losing money as well. Their goal is that down the line they can monopolise the gaming market, which won't happen.

Nintendo lost money on the N64 for a while... they lost money on the GameCube as well... the only reason why they arent on the Wii is becuase it basically has the same pasrts running it as the gamecube with a bit faster of a processor... People said Sony was crazy to put a DVD player in the PS2....
war ensemble
The blu-ray player isn't what's so expensive, it's actually the RSX chip. Adding blu-ray was a great idea for Sony, same as DVD was for the ps2. The blu-ray drives only costed 129$ anyways, if that number is correct. Nintendo's profits come much quicker than the other consoles, because they focus solely on this market. Look at profit numbers if you don't believe me. Arsis
What the **** do I care if the company makes a profit or not? I care which company gives the best product for the best value. PS3 is a inferior product for the most money.
