CoachTsurfing
I wasn't too happy with the coleman signing. I'd never even heard of the guy until we signed him.
Ghost
I wasn't too happy with the coleman signing. I'd never even heard of the guy until we signed him. Yeah, me too. I heard he was a great backup, but I rather have Bowens then Coleman.
bitonti
RE: coleman - it sounds like alot but it isn't really all that much 4.5 Mil up front for a possible starting DT is a pittance these days. i doubt Bobby Hamilton makes the 53 man.
Mehl56
To me the big issue is that Coleman is 295lbs and Bowen is 266 - one is a 3-4 DE and the other is a 4-3 DE... at least IMO
JetCane
By paying so much to Coleman, and by retaining von Oelhoffen and re-signing graybeard Bobby Hamilton, the Jets are giving the impression that they

Scott Dierking
Agree 100%,, Rich, isnt this the kid who was ready for NFL but broke leg in last game as Junior or senior and had to come back and play as senior or Grad student? Pos is a linebacker's linebacker. Not overwhelming speed or agility (enough though), but he knows how to get to the ball and will rock a ball carrier when he gets there. Smart player. I think he works better in space, and I don't know if this defense will afford him that. He did injure his leg in teh Bowl game against FSU last year. Took a helmet right on teh knee and rehabbed last spring.

SickJetFan
i think the idea is to have bowens move to olb, hobson move inside, and barton move on. and who covers the TE/RB? Bowen is not replacing an every down LB like that..He is a situational pass rusher.
