CoachTsurfing Posted March 17, 2007 Share Posted March 17, 2007 It always amazes me when guys say "I hate it when people bash chad" or conversely "Chad will win us a super bowl". Normally it's new people to the board. I have been to a few boards where if you bash players they lock down the thread. This is the best forum I have every been on and proud to be a member. So what gets me though is, if you don't like the thread then don't look at it. Just like people complain that a show on t.v. is too controversial, well turn the channel. You don't even have to get up from the couch any more. Use the remote. I honestly don't care who the darn QB is as long as he wins games. I would have understood your point more if you mentioned Chad in the thread title. But even threads that do not have Chad in the title are about Chad or turn into Chad threads these days and it gets a little old. Just a thought. Just saying there has been too much time spent on Chad this offseason, imo. It seems a lot of threads turn into Chad threads or are Chad threads. I personally have said about everything I need to say about Chad this offseason. No reason to comment on new threads and no reason to complain about them. jmho. I know people who honestly believe that Chad had nothing to do with us being 10-6 last year. That if we had started Clemens we might have been 11-5 or 12-4 and made it to the Super Bowl possibly. This people are just unreal. But like CoachT says if I see a thread that I think is along the Chad bashing theme I just avoid it totally. Be thankful of one thing guys. I'm going to assume that at least part of this is being directed towards me since I posted the "when will it stop" thread. If that is the case, please not that I acknowledged the fact that I don't have to come here and read these threads, I do b/c there are some good ones. It's like rsherry said, some threads shouldn't even be about Chad....they just turn into Chad threads because people have a hard time going 10 minutes without reminding us that we are playing for nothing as long as Chad is our starter. I realize there are also people that think Penny is a God but they are usually just responding to another members bashing as opposed to just blurting it out b/c they feel like it....and if they do just blurt it out it's usually in a thread with a subject that suggests that theme. He can't win the big one. John Elway was bashed. Dan Marino is still bashed for not winning the super bowl. The QB position is probably the most overanalyzed position in sports. They get all the credit and they get all the blame. And when a QB is drafted in the first round and becomes a face of a franchise, of course people are going to bash him or praise him. It's the way it is. Jake the Snake took the Broncos to the AFC Championship game and then was benched midway through last season. Trent Dilfer won a SB, then was cut by the Ravens. YOU need to accept the fact that the fans, media, coaches and owners sometimes over react when it comes to the QB getting a job done or not done. I like what Chad P has done over the years, barring his injuries, but people need to fact the fact that he is not a QB who can drive a team 90 yards in the last minute to win a playoff game. Maybe it'll happen, but certain players have that extra something on top of talent to get it done. Chad P thinks too much and sometimes it costs the Jets games.
