Maxman
JetNation had the opportunity to interview Michael Morrissey of the NY Post about the NY Yankees. You can read about it here.
madmike1
All i need to hear is that this guy thinks that torre batting arod 8th had something to do with them losing. Thanks for saving me 20 bucks max.

Thanks for saving me 20 bucks max. What he answered was: I believe a number of factors led to their ignominious postseason defeat. He didn't blame Joe 100%. He said lineup shuffling played a part. But he blamed the pitching as well. And he is right. When it comes to last years Yankee failure, there is enough blame to go around.
TaborJet
Great interview. It would be interesting to see just how disfunctinal the Yankee clubhouse was.
Maxman
R44 had a great question but I got it after the fact unfortunately. He said to ask about the irony of Chad Curtis. Hating on Jeter for being so friendly with ARod when he was on the Mariners. Funny considering where they are at today friendship wise.
Scott Dierking
I haven't read the book or any of the encapsulated reviews, but is he implying that pressure is associated with the New York Yankees? Pressure? Pressure is trying to win a World Series in San Diego, in Pittsburgh, in Cincinatti. Pressure in NY and the Yankees? If a problem appears, you patch it with money. And this not only applies to the Yankees, trust me, I realize that. That is not pressure. That is called living high on the hog. The only pressure the Yankees feel is to keep ARod from talking to someone with a mcrophone or pad and pencil.

But I think what he is saying is that a year like last year is a failure for one team and one team only. You can say it is about the money. And that is true to a certain extent. But in 1990 a year like that would have been a good thing even with the # 1 payroll. I think the pressure comes from all the glory years, especially the recent ones: 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000. But, in the big scheme picture, the Yankees still drew their 4 million fans, drew their concession, got their TV revenue and got their merchandising checks. Things weren't so bad. Unless you were a fan. THAT is pressure. Trust me, no one is weeping and pulling their hair out in the Yankee front office.
